GTA4 - Will it be appearing on pc?

not long, start of the year i think :( fitted into my pentium 4 system to start with, then i upgraded to Q6600 about 2 weeks ago
quite good system it runs UT3 with those 2 settings at 5/5 perfectly :)
 
i dont know why it should appear on the PC so late exept for the PC version dev time.

the reason the others came out 6 months later on the pc was because of the exclusivity deal Sony had with Rockstar - well that is surely irrelevent now that its a simultaneous release on two competing consoles.

If we compare with other console to PC "ports" such as AC and Mass Effect, usually the time taken between the console launch and the PC launch is just enough to create the port with little to no additions ( and in the case of AC, a bad one). So 6 months may even be wishful thinking.

I'm not too bothered about new additions, I just want the game.

AC was actually a pretty good port compared to most games.

As for the specs. I would say that GTA4, being the type of game that it is, (very large open areas and less than revolutionary graphics, much like WoW) Your CPU and RAM are going to be the deciding factors as to weather or not you can run it. As for graphics, I would say something like an x1950Pro would be fine.

As for me, I won't be buying it. Not for consoles nor PC. The GTA series has been milked more than enough for my liking. I no longer see a reason to buy it over any other game released at the same time.

I think its more of a given tbh that it will be released on the PC. Otherwise they would be losing millions in revenue, considering the amount of PC gamers there are out there.
 
they wont lose as much as you think. While there are a lot of pc gamers out there, the percentage of those with good spec system, capable of running the latest games, is extremely low.
 
I have seen another thread on here somewhere with a link to a website stating that the PC version will come out in August ... or was it September either way it will be soon !! :cool:

Nothing stopping you from connecting your PC up to your Bravia. I have one of my gaming computers connected to my Pioneer Kuro!
 
Hated the PC versions of the GTA games. The gamepads for the consoles seem to suit it much better.

I do have a PC compatable 360 remote, but I reckon I'll just get the 360 version of the game, so much easier, just whack the disc in and away you go.

What I am curious about is what multiplayer will be like over Xbox Live....should be good craic I reckon.

Nooooo

You would just whack the disc and play on the pc version (okay 1 install) ? or get a no cd crack ... just click and play :)

I always find the pc versions have quicker loading times too no waiting around.

Cant do quick wicked head shots with the 360 controller

I find the PC versions loads better than the consoles (IMO)

September sounds about right.




Keyboard and mouse is better than the joy pad any day of the week, when getting shot at by police with kb&m at least you don’t lock on the old granny with the shopping bags like you used to with the ps2 version of gta :p
 
i read on a site(i think it may have been posted on these forums already) that the game was to be released on PC in october or november. I'll try and find the link when i get home from work
