GTA4-yet another good looking Gfx mod!

Yeah its good... but, I have this on the ps3. I never completed it because eventually I just got bored. Same happened on the pc :S I've left it installed as I keep telling myself Ill play it at some point!

So does this not work on steam version? if anyone could confirm would be grateful, hovering over the steam buy button for the complete edition

OP your timing couldn't have been better. After purchasing this the first time it went on sale I've only just downloaded it to officially start playing. Thank you!!

Really looking forward to playing this, the YouTube vids are breath taking. I've installed the mod and played for a few minutes and it really looks phenomenal with an average of 44FPS.

For anyone attempting to try this mod on their Steam copy, I can confirm that the mod installs and works without issue when steam is fully closed down.

If this it's of any help then here is the process I used for my first time install:
1. Turn off steam
2. Make a duplicate copy of the GTA game directory
3. Check exe version number, mine is 1.0.7.0
4. Download the patch from this site
5. Extract the file and read through the readme
6. Copy from the referenced files into the GTA IV folder
7. If you are not asked to replace files then you have copied into the wrong directory
8. Run the LaunchGTA exe
9. It will state that an xlive.dll is missing
10. Go to installables folder
11. Install the GFWL and the VisualC files
12. Try running LaunchGTA exe again and it will start
13. It will ask for your CD key so close down the game
14. Start up steam and go to your library
15. Right click on the GTA IV game link and choose CD key and note it down
16. Fully close the steam application
17. Run the LaunchGTA exe
18. Enter the CD key and now setup your graphics and run a benchmark
19. When secuROM asks you to log in, just choose play offline
20. Yay deal with GFWL... Log in, download profile, download update, restart game, log in and enter CD key
21. Enjoy the game

Don't forget your manners, if this helps you then say thanks.

Is it normal that this mod has lots of HDR? It really makes the game look abit crap on my PC.

It also seems the ENB Series mods totally fail to work on my install too. Some just have this layer of noise and it's awful.

Rather than overwriting files, etc... install Generic Mod Enabler which lets you swap mods in & out as you please, as it backs files up automatically when you 'enable' a mod.

Simple to set up and can save a lot of hassle, esp if the mod doesn't work / you don't like it.

You're welcome mate!

I picked it up on a crazy Steam sale. They knocked it down to £3 once and I didnt buy it for some silly reason but a few weeks later it came down to £3 again and I jumped on it.

I never saw it dip that low again

Thanks Trent, I got it running on my Steam version. I must say though, this looks horrible :( massive brightness/bloom and what I can only describe as film grain all over the place. Thank goodness I had a backup of my GTAIV folder to bring it back to vanilla. :( Oh well.

Grrr! I doubt they will do that any time soon with this mod out!!

Its 16quid for that and all the DLC, not bad

Krugga can you also also use those mods with steam versions? Gonna buy the GTA 4 complete pack from steam I think.

Yes, the screenshots above are taken from the Steam BoGT version.

You can of course add Road Textures pack to it, Reality IV for different Time Cycle effects, tweak DoF, etc.
