GTA4-yet another good looking Gfx mod!

It would be nice if someone compiled a list of essential mods for GTA 4 :P Like, gfx packs, car packs etc etc. Any volunteers? You will get many internet cookies

Not really, it's best to replace them individually as you're bound to dislike some of them.

I use the Realistic Driving EFLC mod to replace all handling files and don't touch them after replacing the cars themselves. Just make sure that you find adequate cars for replacement or else you must use their own handling values.

You can find models here and here and use Open IV to install them.

There isn't any, tbf, the mods are all different and likely to cause problems when you run into compatibility issues.
 
Spent last few hours installing most of the mods and the cars. Looks better but nowhere near as nice as the video.

My Gtx 260 sli just cant handle it lol

i know what you mean i have built countless collections replacing every car and tuning each car using the handling editor to make them seem more belivable and not totally OTT but breaks my heart when you put a couple of bad car mods in and get the dreaded SMP60 error and cant find which car mod is making it unstable as you have to start all over again lol
 
Anyway to force GTA IV to use my GPU? It's lagging bad with the mod just posted above and the GPU usage is so low my fan is not even spinning up and this is on a 5870.
 
Hey, bit of confusion trying to get the mods to work for steam copy.. could you clarify below bold text, sorry if im being a moron.

1. Turn off steam
2. Make a duplicate copy of the GTA game directory

13. It will ask for your CD key so close down the game

15. Right click on the GTA IV game link and choose CD key and note it down
16. Fully close the steam application
17. Run the LaunchGTA exe from the copied directory?
18. Enter the CD key and now setup your graphics and run a benchmark
19. When secuROM asks you to log in, just choose play offline
20. Yay deal with GFWL... Log in, download profile, download update, restart game, log in and enter CD key
21. Enjoy the game

for only £6 im tempted but i bet it wont turn out like that video. Anyone have any real life screenshots to share?

I completed the game plus all DLC on xbox but it looked ugly as hell

It does look as good as that video but you need patch 1.0.4 for that to work.

And the patch isn't available on Steam as Steam updates the game automatically to 1.0.7.
 
Krugga can you also also use those mods with steam versions? Gonna buy the GTA 4 complete pack from steam I think.

I got it to work but it messes up the HDR.

If you could actually read, you'd realise that this mod requires v 1.0.4 of the game that is not available on Steam (Steam autoupdates to the latest patch).

Therefore you won't be able to make it work with the Steam version of the game but there are other mods that achieve similar effects (in fact this mod is just a compilation of ENB Series 0.82 [that supposedly blows up some Nvidia cards], some texture mods, custom timecycle and enb config.

Is there a way of getting the files from a 1.0.4 patch and overwrite the files in steam? So it sets it to 1.0.4?

This might actually make me play GTA4 (Been sitting on my steam list for more than a year).
