The FE is $60 more than RX480 8gb. Do you see lots of Custom version coming in below the $300 mark after the gtx1070 release. It would be a pleasant surprise for those buying but i can't see it.

Stop it. You are doing the worst case scenario again and I am stating facts. Anything over $250 exchanged to pounds and add VAT is Mark up on custom cards and that is the facts.

No. What's cringe-worthy is watching a guy who buys the most expensive Nvidia GPU release after release running from thread to thread complaining about Nvidia at every opportunity, while hailing AMD regardless of how their products perform.

I respect the opinion of people who call out Nvidia's high pricing and abstain from purchasing their products, but it's bizarre watching you complain while you have a history of racing to buy the next best Nvidia GPU.

You're very closeted about your love for Nvidia aren't you?

No i am going by the previous launch of the gtx1070 which barely had any cards below the FE ($400) or near the RRP of $329 for Custom cards. You are looking on the bright side and i am using history. So in your mind it's $250 for all :D:D:D. I respect your optimism.

I am not going on the worst case. The worst case is all the custom cards come in over the FE price. I am saying i expect most cards to be around the FE price ($300) and not the $250.

If it comes in around those prices then it's essentially replacing the 970 price segment. The mid and high range are being moved further and further out of reach of the masses. What a joke.

That is just BAD engineering, looks like some hackjob done in a shed. I know it's Nvidia and they always tend to skimp on the ref cards wherever they can, but that's just atrocious. Just makes the founders cards even more of a rip off.

Yea AMD could launch a card twice as powerful as the 1080 but they'd have to invent a new super PSU to power it,...


Getting that performance below 600w tpd is not easy for AMD hence why Polaris is more power hungry but similar performance to a 28nm GTX 970...

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but none of that is true.

And as for £280 being too much, I'd say that even at 980-levels of performance, that will be disappointing, yes. But then again, much of that will be down to the drop in exchange rate. At £250, it still wouldn't be a revelation. Yea, a x60 card will match a previous gen x80 card, which is respectable, but that x80 card is almost two years old.

As I've said elsewhere, so far, neither AMD nor Nvidia have impressed me with price/performance improvements.
