Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but none of that is true.
And as for £280 being too much, I'd say that even at 980-levels of performance, that will be disappointing, yes. But then again, much of that will be down to the drop in exchange rate. At £250, it still wouldn't be a revelation. Yea, a x60 card will match a previous gen x80 card, which is respectable, but that x80 card is almost two years old.
As I've said elsewhere, so far, neither AMD nor Nvidia have impressed me with price/performance improvements.
There is not the harvest to be made from the new process. It seems expensive and not that great compared to previous ones even though this is technically a two stage jump, but we can see why the 20nm stuff failed miserably.
