GTX 1070 - any takers?

Pretty much all the "FE" cards were £410

Cheapest "blower" edition was £369 for KFA2, MSI same type was £380

Pretty much all the 3rd party coolers started from £410 for cheapest and most were £430-£450 with Asus strix at £480 and a hybrid MSI seahawk at £550
We're being charged x80 prices for a x70 card? Disgusting who would even spend 550 on a 1070? Considering I got my 1080 FTW at 597 That's disgusting

Should have expected it really. The 1080 costs as much as a 980 Ti, so it fits that the 1070 costs as much as a 980. They've just bumped everything up one price bracket. I'm certainly out at those prices. Roll on the RX 480.

I'm hoping they took the cards down because those prices weren't exactly right.. Tbh if they are then I may go with a £350 used 980Ti which performs on par with the 1070.. Disappointing as I was confident they'd be priced sensibly.

Even that doesn't make sense. They've marked up the price by £90 odd compared to prices in other countries..

highly doubt it its been taken down because its not meant to be on sale until 2pm

Well I don't know what to do now. I was all set on buying a replacement for my GTX 760 today :(

know the feeling. sold my 970 aint had a graphics card since the announcement nvidia is gonna lose some custom in the uk stupid move when amd is bringing cheap graphics cards to the market

You got charged xTi prices for the x80 card so are you surprised?
Nvidia just capitalising on AMD's complete lack of presence.

Intel have been doing it for a while but Nvidia seem to really be twisting the knife.

We're assuming the RX480 will be cheap in UK. At this rate it could be a £300 card.

Considering some 980s new are like £400 and most 980tis are still £500+, I'd say the pricing is pretty bang on.

I bet the OCUK team are watching this thread melt and trolled us with a high price page for a few minutes.

...One can only hope. £380 was my top budget for a EVGA.

£450 for a 1070 Wow, just WOW:eek:

Nvidia might single handedly destroy the PC market. It's only the beginning. Wait for the 1080 Ti prices. That will be the real shock and awe.

IKR

I've been saving up for a 1080Ti at the start of the year. Was figuring I would need about £500/600. Looks like it might well be 4 figures. Sickening.

For the first time in my life a friend (console gamer) asked me about getting a gaming PC and getting into PC gaming with the "epic graphics"....I told him "don't bother mate, wait for a PS5"

Nearly had proverbial tears in my eyes telling him lol.

Are they trying to make the 1080 look better value? Makes the £569 inno3d 1080 look tempting

This is true - but why aren't they doing that in the US?

For nvidia it makes sense - no direct competition so raise prices, slowly sell off 980ti etc at a smaller discount, and then be prepared to cut prices by £100 when AMD actually come out with vega. Meanwhile they've pocketed a bundle of money
