GTX 1070 - any takers?

really hope the only cards that are 399 are not palit and ocuk value then evga msi etc are 400-440

I will just import one for less if that's the case lol

palit/ocuk versions should start 380..we'll see

Yeah, not sure why OCUK have priced their 1080 FEs from board partners like MSI, EVGA higher than others. Especially since they're all the same card and other re-sellers have it at the standard £619. Rather odd. Hopefully they don't do the same with the GTX 1070. Or you could be right. Might see prices over £400.

EVGA have the 1070 FE on their site for €499 (or ~£390) so hopefully retailers won't be selling for too much higher than that

i actually entertained the idea for a second of sli 1070, even though at the very beginning i was put of by pascal which i still am to some extent. But if they cost more than 300-320 per card i dont think they are worth it tbh. Time will tell.

the cheap ones should start @ 339 I can't imagine any stock for weeks though personally

its a shame that Paypal currency converter is total junk lol

it works out cheaper to import one from the states with import fees and customs and delivery paid for, comes to £398 lol

But takes a lot longer and if you need to return it... :/

any ideas if the FE will hold resale value as well as the customs?

Just amazes me when you get a question like this. 1070 not even out yet bothered about selling it and asking a question no one can answer about a future event.
Sign of the times that people accept this as the norm.

Just curious to see if I can validate my impatience and purchase an FE rather than a custom.

can't answer about future events but can assume based on past information.

Im learning more towards a custom now even if im paying the same price as founders, im not paying any more of 400

Be interesting to see if the GTX 1070 takes the same route as GTX 1080 in terms of pricing for custom boards. If the pricing is £399 for the FE I doubt you'll see custom PCBs from board partners for lower than £399. Though might see ones with custom coolers for below £399.

Pretty relevant since it's released at 2pm today and if you're going to consider buying it, possible resale value is something someone might look for. Especially when some people might look to upgrade after a yr or so.

In terms of answering the question, 'will it have resale value'. It's a question which is frequently answered for most goods.

They seem to be up on the website now and the prices are shocking for what is the replacement for the 970 :(

Cheapest is £369 for the blower style. That's me definitely out. I got my kfa "black edition" 970 for £270 on release day and the replacement 1070 equivalent is a minimum of £100 more than that.

Well I had my CC ready to buy one but those prices...

Indeed. £100 minimum mark-up over last gen is disgusting. Ah well, I guess I'll keep my money to myself for a bit longer then. I really hope AMD can bring some desperately needed competition to this segment.
