GTX 1070 - any takers?

I have seen the prices at another retailer and if you thought OCUK prices were high LOL...

I told many on here the card will be these prices and they laughed and said sure sure just wait 980ti soon £200...

There you go.... Reality struck for a third time now, 1080 , 1070 and intel 6950x.. all laughed when I mentioned the prices would be this high for all 3 (2016 fail year for tech as I said, all the hype is always a sign of doom (funny we actually got the game Doom this year too))..

Sorry to say to some I told you so... Just wait for them to soon go up in price even more as there are only very low stocks being distributed to retailers, expect a long wait for them. ;)

Also 1080 Ti price will be £800-£850+ for this generation.

wut?

buying a 1070 gtx at this moment is madness !

wait until the 480 launches then buy if you gunna buy. ;)

if the 1070s dont shift because the 480 is priced well then its obvious they will drop the price. forget whats salesmen will tell you about not dropping in price. if they dont sell and many will be more happy with under £200 for the 480 performance than £400 for not that much faster.

hoping the prices are not as bad as they seem to be been waiting to get back into pc gaming for a few years now and them prices just seem depressing if true :(

may just go for console gaming again for the next few years which is even more depressing

Yes this

Its what is going to kill the gaming pc in general over time you will only be left with elite enthusiast with money to burn and benchmarks to do ..more and more will move over to consoles nvidia intel ect are shooting themselves in the foot with these prices ..

Plus games on the pc will become even worse either really bad ports or nothing at all ...console only..all the independents will have to move over to console or not exist

Amd however are clever its a win win for them more consoles sold more chips sold ....

Its been said few times nvidia want out of the PC gaming sector and want to be doing all there science stuff

Sad but there is some truth in this and who is to blame the companies selling the stuff in the 1st place at high prices ..

This is not i future i want to be in so lets hope not ...

The price stated by NVidia is $449 for the FE card and $379 for the non FE card. I would wait for the non FE cards personally and grab a 1070 for ~£315 :)

Be patient, it's supply and demand. If there is no demand for the new cards at their current silly prices, nvidia will panic and slice £100 off the rrp.

If enough people just go out and pay whatever then nvidia will think they got the pricing bang on.
