GTX 1070 - any takers?

Also remember that cheap cards like the GTX 960 smash current consoles. For example, mirrors edge catalyst runs at 720p 30fps on Xbox One at equivalent of high PC settings! There is no reason to move to console gaming. You can still get better visuals than a console for decent money.

Really?? Sauce??

Under the shroud, differences between the 1070 and 1080 become more apparent. Whereas the 1080 employs a vapor chamber solution, 1070 sports an aluminum heat sink with three embedded copper heat pipes. Almost assuredly this is a cost-cutting measure related to the 1070’s 150W TDP. A lower-power card simply doesn’t need such a beefy cooler, even if it would undoubtedly help GeForce GTX 1070 overcome some of the thermal limits we saw the 1080 hit.

That's good, shame Nvidia skimped on the HS on 1070.

Right the 1070 has no vapor chamber setup on the heatsink compared to a 1080, Titan X or 980Ti. Basically a cheaply made card, that has had 25% of its cores disabled and not the newer VRAM too as on the 1080.

Then a quick reminder too a 256bit setup.... And lets get real the whole Pascal situation is nothing more than a Maxwell die shrink with some tweaks.

Anyways lets see when the 1080Ti comes out at £800-£850+ and the reaction of the forum.. More to come yet.. Also I doubt there will be Titan unless they have a lot of bad chips that they could use as Ti's instead and then keep the fully working ones and try sell them as Titans at £1250. Have to wait and see I guess.. But my gut feeling is there will not be a Titan card this time and the Titan will be available again when Volta is released (the real chip that was meant for now but they added Pascal).

I think its less brain wash and more demand. Too some waiting isn't worth it too save £50, they rather just get the card now even if it costs more. Not everyone has the same value in a GPU.

AMD has also made it clear that they don't care about the higher end, they want the lower/mid range.

That is very true too.

We get it mate, you don't like nvidia.

But no other graphics card manufacturer has a good reference solution either. Just buy a custom cooler at a lower price!

And second tier cards are always cut down from the top tier.

These aren't legitimate complaints, seriously.
