GTX 1070 - any takers?

The price stated by NVidia is $449 for the FE card and $379 for the non FE card. I would wait for the non FE cards personally and grab a 1070 for ~£315 :)

Eh? the cheapest one for the kfa blower edition was £369??? most of the none FE cards were priced higher than the FE (which was £410 on its own)..???

Be patient, it's supply and demand. If there is no demand for the new cards at their current silly prices, nvidia will panic and slice £100 off the rrp.

If enough people just go out and pay whatever then nvidia will think they got the pricing bang on.

They will sell out in a few hours. Just watch when they come up for sale, I give them 2-3 hours all stocks gone at all retailers. Nvidia is doing the Apple brainwashing on most wanting a graphics card.

You can tell people to vote with their wallets all you want never works.. I have said the same thing for years and always the same outcome. Too many people with disposable income and it has become a hobby that they are willing to pay for. Just look on these forums how much some people spend just to play one game at a certain setting that most people can't even tell the difference if it is an expensive PC setup or a Console version of the same game.

just release review 8:35 BST with price tag of £399 (review card)- partner cards £350

No it not £350 for partner cards, it said £329.

So £329 is fantastic price for GTX 1070. Hopefully EVGA and MSI cards cost around £350. Cant believed my eye that GTX 1070 Founders Edition cost £399, well if I had that kind of money to spare then I would rather pay £125 more for GTX 1080.

+1 to this, there are too many people brainwashed to buy Nvidia products even at the ludicrous prices, this is why Nvidia can get away with it, and the fact AMD have nothing to offer to compete right now.

If i was in the market for a 1070 or similar right now, i'd seriously wait til we see solid info on the AMD Polaris stuff before buying anything right now, even though the 480 is not meant to compete with the 1070, i would still wait to see what AMD are bringing to the table.

Or you could just bend over and take that unlubed Nvidia love

Well it would be a perfect opportunity for them to drop some large hints. I'm afraid they'll drop the ball again.......

People are being unrealistic.

Remember the GTX 670 from 2012 at the start of the 28nm process? £330 at launch - which is the same sort of price point as the cheapest non-FE will be for the 1070. And we are talking 4 years ago, there must be almost 10% RPI inflation since then which means £330 in 2012 is actually £360 in today's money.

The 970 was the end of the line for a mature fabbing process so yes the jump does seem high, but people don't even consider that the new chips could cost more to make than the old ones.

I think its less brain wash and more demand. Too some waiting isn't worth it too save £50, they rather just get the card now even if it costs more. Not everyone has the same value in a GPU.

AMD has also made it clear that they don't care about the higher end, they want the lower/mid range.
