GTX 1070 - any takers?

1070 seems to have more hype than the 1080 unless its all an illusion lol

Probably because the people who want a 1070 were staying relatively quiet during 1080 release.

Also there is bound to be more people going for a 1070 since it's in a more affordable price bracket, yet still allows for high performance gaming.

Nice performance and would be a good upgrade for me but it's still too much money. Prices need to start at under £300 for me to get interested. Sadly Nvidia is doing the same thing as Intel and giving a big price hike over the previous generation card that it's replacing. Gaming on a pc is getting prohibitively expensive.

After reading a few reviews, I think I will be going for a custom 1070 after the dust settles and see if I can hold on until Polaris in case that has an impact on prices.

I think the 1070 offers great 1440p 980Ti level performance for a roughly £100 (FE) to £150 (aftermarket) less than the £500+ the 980Ti launched at. Due to the very small fps increase I Can't justify myself getting a 1080, having a 980Ti under water at 1480MHz, but the 1070 is great for those on 970/290 or less.

even tho I have 400 sitting in my savings account I dont think its worth the 400 id pay like 350 tops I just look at the 970 being 280 when it come out then the next card that is replacing that being 120 quid more is a bit of a joke. I sold my 970 because I hit the vram limit and got a game running like poop and thought enough is enough. wanted to 1070 for the vram to not be hitting any limits any time soon, I dont intend in upgrading every year after this card

If the 1070 is faster than the 980ti, and the 1070 comes out at like £340-360, then people expecting anything more than £275 for a second hand 980ti would be mad really.

I feel a bit sorry for people who paid £350+ recently for a used 980Ti.

1070 cards with more ram around 320 i hope at same performance as 980ti or even slightly slower why wound second hand 980ti be more 250 with no warranty and used face it the 980ti is going to plummet and i cant wait love a bargain

980ti is slower, has less VRAM, uses more power, is used (i.e second hand) in most cases. So if new 1070's are selling for £320 I can't see a used 980ti getting more than £270 at the most

If I can get a decent 1070 for £350 or less then Im sold.

Will make a nice little upgrade from my 780.

If it makes any difference the non FE cards start from $379, so some cheaper aftermarket models should be under £350. Just like the 1080, with aftermarket cards starting £95 less than the FE at OcUK.

Not to mention it looks like they have a good jump in dx12 compared to the 980ti as well. Not that big a deal now but could be during the 1070s life span

980ti's will all be firesaled off for around £300 soon anyway.
