GTX 1070 - any takers?

KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 EX OC 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card looks pretty good to me at £375, considering it's only about 20% slower than the 1080

I have the 970 version and its ok. Its silent in desktop useage, but I can definitely hear it when it's under load. Like a rush of air though, nothing too unpleasant. Nowhere near the noise from a "blower" edition though.

The only thing that's stopped me buying it, is that it's over £100 more for the 10 series equivalent now, and in inflation does not come anywhere near that amount to justify that ridiculous price increase. £270 + inflation does not = £385 :(

could somebody explain the story behind the 'clown card' ?

Galax slapped a horrendously cheesy image of a weird clown on a very budget 1080 Blower style card. It was heavily mocked for being ****.

However, it actually came in a lot cheaper than others, and seeing as how the custom cards don't seem to overclock any better than it. It actually seems to be the best buy!

Currently the cheapest 1080 around. It has a clown on it.

Why do people keep justifying the ludicrous prices by saying its as fast as xxxx? It replaces the 970 so it should be around that with a little extra for being new, nvidia just seem to be extracting the urine because they know there's enough people with more money than sense.

I have a GTX 970 Asus Strix, so was hoping to get the 1070 Asus Strix... but at £479.99, I think I'm going to have to change my plans :p

So the GTX 1070 occupies the old GTX 980 price slot, while the 1080 occupies the 980 Ti price slot with a bit of extra on top.

So the 1060 should come in at the GTX 970 price slot.

Looks like the AMD 480 is going to come in at roughly £220 so will probably sit around there if the performance is similar (the $200 480 price had no VAT etc on it)
