GTX 1070 - any takers?

Nvidia think that all of us are sheep...isnt it time we put a stop to this and stopped buying at these crazy prices. As someone has said before we will all be on consoles this time next year if this keeps up.

I'm considering just getting the updated PS4 Neo to go alongside my XboxOne with the 1070 cash, £390 for the cheapest half decent one is silly.

People are saying they will wait for the AMD but isn't the last lot of AMD drivers totally gash? Not wanting to derail the thread but i don't want to wait all this time to save £100 but have hassle with drivers for the next year etc.

Yeh the AMD drivers are terrible - they make every game completely unplayable. All the cards run at 90°C even at 100% fan speed, no matter what cooling used.

NVIDIA are the only option, the 1080 and 1070 are worth every penny and will change your life.

Yup, terrible. I've not been able to game for years now, I just sit staring at a black screen for hours on end. Not the gaming experience I had hoped for.

I don't know why I do it to myself.

....

Can't say I've ever experienced any issues with their drivers, they've always been functional.
I'd say they're generally slower to send out updates for new releases but that's never been an issue for me.

Okay I've had time for it to sink in... Think I'm going to wait a few weeks...

Might end up going for the 1080... :p Dammit Nvidea, you played me like a damn fiddle! :p

Not true is the easy answer. You are hearing mythical nonsense and assuming it's a fact.

Both Nvidia and AMD drivers work perfectly fine for single GPU users.

Rubbish - nVidia drivers have been pretty dire for the last year. AMD still lag behind in terms of feature implementation but to their credit with a couple of recent game launches that had issues they had a fixed driver out within days.

Used 980ti all the way. I would be tempted at £250, but the recent prices are a joke. People get a reality check and buy used, or wait 2-3 months.

From what I'm hearing the drivers are pretty much on par, it's just Nvid fanboys stating otherwise, for me it's not about saving money as such as not wanting to buy into hype, from the looks of things the rx480 should retail at around £200 taking into account UK premium. Could get the 480 and pass it onto the girlfriend when upgrading to a better 1440p card. Obviously that is also depending on AMD hype, lol.

Ive had amd cards for the past 10 years, and have not had any problems with drivers in that time.

Oh come on, deep down you know he's right :)

Some of the cards are still in stock (the less desirable ones) and some of the more desirable ones that have actually been available had quite high stock levels showing for the couple of hours or so before they went sold out so its far from as black and white as the picture he is painting.

Probably true, I haven't had a Nivida GPU since before Christmas. :)
