GTX 1070 - any takers?

Well, there goes my plan of getting a Gigabyte windforce 1070 to replace my 760. I'll wait to see if the AMD releases lead to price drops, but if not I'm waiting to see what the 1060 offers.....

hahaha. exactly what I'm thinking

suddenly, gtx 1080 doesn't look that bad afterall :-)

This is what happens when AMD cannot compete. These are going for 500€+ here. I was hoping for something closer to 360-400€ (which is reasonable considering the msrp).

With these release prices, think I'd prefer to wait and support AMD.
It's possibly not Nvidia to blame here. Looking at the US, the 1080 prices are all fairly reasonable. Seems like it could easily be UK/EU retailers jacking up the price because of limited supply and getting greedy when thinking about covering their import costs + tax.

fair point.
But demand was similar with 970 and prices remained reasonable.

449 usd on the egg so I'm sure this is just a reaction to the Polaris announcement by AMD (so 500€ or £375 with vat added).

I'm buying ps4 ;)

actually I'll get 2 for that money

You know what, when the new one comes out with the VR headset support I might do the same and ditch PC gaming. NVidia are smoking the crack pipe if they think they can push the prices this far.

I'll wait for an AMD card that can offer a decent upgrade over my 290 at a good price. I was all geared to buy one of these but F that now.
