GTX 1070 - any takers?

For most stuff yes - even my 780 doesn't do too badly at 1440p with everything turned up other than sometimes having to back off AA a bit (when coupled with a G-Sync panel - I'd have probably upgraded before now without G-Sync).

This exactly.

I find my 780 is decent for most things at 1440p so no desperate need to upgrade just yet.

It's good enough to sit and wait a while :)

I to really wanted to upgrade from my gtx970 but refuse this price out of principle. I waste enough money each month on silly activities to cover a GTX1080. The GTX970 will have to last me longer but in all honesty does a fine job.

Just really wish AMD one day come out of the Blue & gave nvidia a serious crippling blow to teach them a lesson. Like many, this card should be replacing the GTX970 & priced £270-£300 area. But its up to you if you buy one. Vote with the wallet.

Its becoming summer, screw games, go outside :)

depends what fps you are happy with

my "ideal" scenario is 100fps (min. not hitting less than 80fps).

at the moment neither 1080 or 1070 can give you that in demanding games (Tomb raider, dying light, ashes, doom). nvidia needs to get their act together. I know most people still game in 1080 but c'mmon we need x80 ti at reasonable price asap to enjoy silky smooth 1440p.

For me 'allbellsnwhistles' is max settings but with AA say at 2x. (If the game is demanding and I need the fps)

Min 40's.

I'll almost certainly be getting a GTX 1070 if the prices come down a bit. It doesn't make sense to pay more than the ~£330 that the custom cards were meant to sell for, but I'm coming from a GTX 660 so I'm a little more desperate than some for an upgrade.

So far the most tempting card is this one at £375: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kfa2...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-091-kf.html

But that's still a bit too high. If it was in stock at £350 I'd probably just click buy.

when are the aftermarket 1070's going to be out?
ive been on a borrowed 280x for a few months now and really need to give this gpu back, gonna have to swallow the extra cost, however there is no indication of when things are coming into stock, and im not justy gonna lay money down with overclockers for no product incase a competitor gets them first.

surely its worth an extra £25 to get a founders edition for the epic cooler and 1 year extra warranty and better manufacturer , think about it :p

That's a good point about the warranty, I haven't been looking at the length of warranty on each card. I could easily keep it for 4 years so a longer warranty could be very useful.

Whelp, that £310 Palit 980Ti didn't last long, 9 days to be precise. Display cut off during Overwatch last night and now its completely dead, no fans spinning, lights, display output, nothing.

EVGA 1070 FE ordered, feeling rather violated but need something to power the Vive and don't want to wait weeks for the RMA
