Ah yes, in that case just save to a USB stick, a USB stick not being formatted is unheard of really :p

Any compatible stick is fine, which is really any USB stick out there. I have a dedicated 1GB stick for BIOS settings and backups.

320.18 has had no problems for me, PrecisionX is on v4.2 and at too high an OC I might find it has crashed, drop the mem OC and no problems.

Careful what advice you give.. most systems will not restore configurations back to different bios versions !!

As Gregster said Pen and Paper ;)

Overclock profiles are saved in their own format and file though away from the BIOS settings backup, those will have no problem being restored.

At least on all my Intel boards this has been the case!

If I take pictures what settings would I need to capture?
As much as you can, certainly all the Cpu and Memory settings.

You have been lucky then ! 90% of us use Intel based boards, more relevant is the vendor, Asrock and Gigabyte I've had trouble with but as they all introduce or modify settings and features with new bioses, it stands to reason a stored setting may not even be available for the new bios.

Well, it's all done now and thankfully didn't have any issues.

Just registered with EVGA for a free 3DMark advanced steam code, better than nothing I suppose...

Can I ask - have you had any issues at all, are you running the 320.18 driver, what version of precision are you using and have you overclocked the cards?

No problems at all, 320.18 driver. I should probably point out however that all my testing so far has been either with synthetic benchmarks or iracing. Got FarCry 3 to pick up again and a couple of other sims to test with, Rfactor 2 and Project Cars. No problems with overclocking, using v4.2 of Precision X.

I've had 2 bsod crashes. Same driver irql etc message both times. Prior to the crashes on both occasions I had a "precision x has stopped working" windows message and running the computer without it I haven't had any crashes. Thinking that may be causing my problems.

well i have been running the 320.18 driver since day 1,

i have had only one problem, and that is with borderlands 2, this game does not like any sort of overclock, i can play for 5 to 15 mins the screen goes blank for a few seconds then returns to the game at about 15-20 fps, so i have to quit out to get it to play with decent fps, usually runs @ 105 - 120 fps.

all other games i have played seem fine oc'd @1150 mhz.

I haven't tried Borderlands 2 yet but I'm having that exact problem with the Arkham Asylum benchmark, Physx is also screwed up when it comes back on, I can do a heavier overclock just fine with tons of other games and benchmarks but not on Arkham Asylum, got it at 100/100 and seems to be ok with that, I wonder if its to do with Physx as Borderlands 2 has some heavy use of that for material and liquids.

Argh! I was working at home today, anticipating the delivery of my new cards.

Got called in to work for literally 10 minutes (I live < 10mins drive away), and returned to a missed delivery card. Missed the damn thing by 2 minutes! Now need to drive 30mins each way to the postal office, since I won't be around for delivery on Monday. Would probably have been faster to drive to Sheffield and pick them up direct from the store yesterday :p

:D

Could have been worse. I have taken a day off work for deliveries (twice) and nothing has turned up :(

Sods law is on form today then :) ...Just missed an important phone call having a chat to a friend, now have to jump through loops again !

Enjoy those cards and play the Crysis games first ;)

My 780 is the same volume as my 680 was. It's by no means silent but not annoying either. It's a whoosh of air noise. I can hear mine over my 4 x140mm Corsair fans. About 1.25 in that Video above is how loud mine is when gaming.
