GTX 780 Owners Club

Well took the plunge, MSI Geforce GTX 780 Gaming Edition on it's way to me soon!

Was toying with the idea of getting a 280 or 290 instead but decided to stick with Nvidia :)

Anyone know if the evga hydro-copper blocks for the classifieds are any good. would be really nice to have a end to end full cover but don't want to loose performance over the likes of a EK block which does not fully cover the PCB?
Any info would be much appreciated
 
Just ordered a Zotac Amp Edition for less than £370 incl delivery

Was going to go for the gigabyte one but opted for the zotac in the end.

is it worth keeping hold of the black flag game code or is that going to be garbage?

from what i have read, the swiftech block has has flow rates but has buggerall cooling for the vram which is about 15-30C hotter than the EK one.

i just went and bought myself the msi lightning as EK just released a custom block, i do believe that EK also have a custom block available for classifieds too :)

Was waiting for the 290 but couldn't resist a GTX 780 windforce 3 at £399 with 3 games.
I was going to get AC4 anyway and will sell other two.
Noticed that the rev 2.0 of the card has 2x8pin for the power.
Will this mean it will clock better if the chip and memory are good?
 
Just starting to bench properly on Heaven. Stock gave me a measly score of 1440. I look forward to seeing where I end up.
 
Any guides on how to overclock a 780 using precision x?
Do i just set power target to max then increase the core and mem clocks.
Do i need to use overvoltage?

Im sure this has been explained a lot but couldn't find a link.
 
Not unless you need adjust voltage.
Try searching for average clocks on you make/model of card then enter slightly lower clocks and bench for stability.
If stable try pushing a small amount at a time I was going for 3-5 on gpu clock and 15-20 on memory.
Each card reacts differently. GL and have fun :)
