Pondering overclocking my GHZ card to. I noticed in one screenshot you used EVGA then later on used Afterburner, any reason for this?

Update: So after spending the last hour dabbling a bit in overclocking the GHz Edition, the GPU clock barely can handle a 2mhz increase while the memory has easily hit 500mhz. So at current my base clock is 1021mhz and the memory is 1752mhz.

780oc.jpg

about a 7fps increase over the standard ghz edition clock. any advice on my overclock from forum members would be appreciated.
Evga precision wouldn't remember the voltage settings hence why I used afterburner.

I have now settled for a +20 core offset and +500 memory at stock volts 1.162mv which boost to 1150mhz on the core. Cracking card imo as it does what my asus dcu2 780 did on lower volts and can reach higher clocks with a voltage bump.

I ran the settings in my other post just for benches but now I have done benching, these are the clocks that I will run from now on for gaming as it's stable in every game that I have tried. I have also gone back to evga precision due to not needing any voltage adjustments.

Am I missing something? 24 fps for 2 780's seems low.
I think he may only got one GTX 780

It just the way his written it that makes it sound like two 780's...

But I maybe wrong.....:p (I read his post a few times now and i still can't workout if he means one or two 780's )

Just thought id have a little play and see if I can push the memory on my card a bit more.
GOD LORD, the memory on these things is bonkers.
I had to hit +780 offset before I started to get the lightshow

I've backed it off to +750 which seems to be fine as far as I can tell.
Question is, am I going to kill anything running my vRAM at that speed 24x7 ?

Playing with lightning :) 3114 on Valley with a 2500k at 4.6. This is all stock volts on stock bios. Seeing how it goes before playing with the LN2 bios :D

Yea it was a toin coss on my decision, the only thing that swayed me was people reporting noisey fans on the latest batch of EVGA cards.

Still on stock volts but wanted to play games :D

1130 core (1183 boost but goes to 1280 in games :D) 1752 memory

The reviews I read said that the Classified had better RAM than the Lightning but a friend convinced me to get the Lightning and I don't have any bad thing so say about it. 1306 on core and 1893 on mem.

Don't trust myself to take my card apart so see which RAM my lightning is using. I knew that the classified's RAM changes with batches thought all lightning used the Elipida RAM.

So can't seem to get my 780GHZ faster than this. Not complaining as i've got a few extra fps from my original overclocking.

Have to say these Gigabyte fans are silent!

Samsung > Hynix > Elpida as far as I'm aware. A lot of cards are now using Elpida. My WF3 v2 is, so kept it at a modest 1625 for 6500 so far.
