GTX 780 Owners Club

Not double.. about 1.5x - 1.75x :D

Tomb Raider runs over double the performance for me with TressFX enabled. 570 was getting 19-21 fps. 780 at stock gets 40+.

Other games run a lot better as well like BF3 with Ambient Occlusion and everything else up. Metro has gone from 19fps with Advanced PhysX to 41.

I only have a meger 2500K (4.5GHz) so modern games at ultra high res aren't bottlenecked by CPU really for single cards.

I'll take your word for it.. but the card in question is a 580 not 570 :P

I'm temped to upgrade from a 580 once it hits near enough £400.

I'm going to the US in 3 weeks so i'll shop around and see if any shops are selling it for $599, if i see one i'm snapping it up and putting it in suitcase

How many suitcases of green goodness can you bring back  ?

Well my rig has been leak tested, drivers seem to work, AMD software has been purged from the system :p will get some pictures up here later - kids need entertaining till their bed time so can't actually play about anymore till then. Impressed with the limited time I have had with them so far. :D

Does that custom curve look decent?

Up to 30% it's barely audible but 30-40 you can hear it working. the 26-30 range is how it is running desktop apps and movies/surfing etc.

It's normal when you are running sli, depending on the cards position in the setup it will boost a different amount to the other card(s).

I have also seen this with GTX 690s, even the two GPUs on the same card boost to different speeds.

Yes, even when not running SLI my top card still only boosts to 1006. Guess one must be a better clocker than the other :)

What boost is everybody getting?

My card automatically boosts to 979.8MHz without any o/c software even running.

Not bad tbh as advertised is only 902MHz boost.

Max core o/c is 1175.8MHz (36% above stock speed of 863MHz!)

Not bothered with over-volting as yet.

Mines the same as yours Pete, Over volts is next to useless for me.

I'd leave it at minimum up to 40 degrees so its not constantly changing rpm when browsing. How hot does the card get with that curve during a benchmark?

Would be nice to have some form of display / chart of the brands of 780 in comparison to the overclocks people are achieving.

It is highly likely im getting one this Friday so would be nice to pick a nice clocker. However there is most likely going to be silicon lottery in the matter :P

How will it perform in comparison to

2x 560ti 1gb cards?

mrk, my fancurve is quite similar to yours, except I'm willing my fan to allow 100% speed 90c+ temps.

KucnXpB.jpg

That's what my curve is. I mocked it in EVGA since my ZOTAC shows it a bit differently. I played BL2 for about 3hrs today with temps at 60-65c and fan at 50%. Metro:LL with everything maxed runs around between 74c at 60% on my curve.

Hmm I will have a further play around and see what happens :D

I guess even at high % the fan is a lot quieter than the GTX570 stock fan at the same speed, this is good :)

At this stage, they will all perform the same (chip lottery). It isn't until the partners start releasing custom PCB's and binning chips that certain cards will be faster. I would go for EVGA or Gigabyte purely from a 'Top notch' RMA perspective.

As for as 560Ti SLI Vs 780, expect better performance in more or less every game.
