Gtx 780/ti 6gb version

i think it was always going to happen...adding more vram.....these would have to hold there value a little longer than there 3gb counterparts!

but if the price is very close to the ti's....i wont be happy :-(....

hopefully the 3gb version will then come down in price a little......would pick up a couple of them then..

Going to wait a while to see when the 780 Ti 6GB is due.:)

I don't know If I can wait that long tbh. I am thinking about getting a Titan Black? Don't know yet? I was hoping to get 2 780 Ti's, but prices are still too high? I'll give it a few more days and see what happens?

There is absolutely no point in buying a single Titan Black or 6gb 780ti for that matter as the extra VRAM will not come into play.

nothing to say games in next year won't use over 3gb of VRAM

I agree 6gb is a stretch

but I'd imagine >3gb is quite possible even at 1440p resolution within the year

for a small amount extra - no brainer IMO

Games are becoming more graphically demanding so you are more likely to run out of GPU grunt before you run out of VRAM @1440p.

not sure - I wish I'd got a 2.5gb 570 - as my current overclocked 570 is held back more by its lack of VRAM (especially titles like Skyrim) than by its "lack of grunt"

with the current gen of consoles - I'm not sure stuff is going to get that much more complex, more likely higher res textures etc, and more people jumping to 1440p or 4k

so every bit helps
