The countdown begins :)

I still don't see the need to upgrade to the Ti unless I see dramastic difference..

considering I bagged a evga 780 ref for 383 delivered with 3 games.. which compared to 550 (780ti) is amazing value

A £400 GPU is expensive.

Even if you aren't on minimum wage.

You can buy a Playstation 4 and a game for that sort of money, and that (the console) should last somebody 5-7 years!

Maybe some of us have a different view to others on a good price. Even a £400 card looks expensive if you're sat on minimum wage...

Perhaps, point being the Titan has allowed NVidia to sneakily push up the price of it's normal top end cards a good amount, with people still feeling they are getting a good deal in comparison to the Titan. There was an article about how the Titan was a marketing ploy. It's not about what people can or cannot afford, its about value for money in comparison to you were getting not so along ago.

I totally agree. £400 is the limit as to what I'd spend on a gpu personally and I find that expensive. Prices have been bumped up massively in the last couple of years.

Its because people will spend a lot of extra money on the GTX780TI over custom cooled GTX780 GHZ Edition cards.

Ultimately, its their fault as consumers, not Nvidia as they are there to make money. They are a business not a charity.

For items like graphics cards, its the consumer which dictates pricing. If Nvidia spots a pricing hole they can fit, they will fill it.

MSI cards will be available today, at a corker price too. Not sure how many though.

EVGA Superclocked has no confirmed date yet :(

You will be able to flash a SC BIOS onto any of the ref cards when the SC comes out :)

I ran my Asus Titan with a EVGA SC BIOS for a spell :D

Not to me it isn't.

8 years ago cards were being released at £500.

I spent £480 on my R9 290x.

That is expensive, whatever way you look at it.

For less than half the price I could have had a 7970 which would have done a good enough job at 1080p

A PS4 is £349.99. Battlefield 4 is £45.

That will be a comparable experience to playing the same game at 1080p on a £1000+ PC.

If I am a millionaire and Tesco are selling a £2.99 sandwich and Selfridges are selling an £85 sandwich, then the Selfridges one is expensive.

Just because I can afford it doesn't make it inexpensive.

Edit - Also a 7800GTX in 2005 was circa £350, not £500. That was the fastest card of the year as far as I remember.

thats expensive when a 290x could have been had for 388 awhile ago

yes even I can't believe how much ive spent on my computer, when you think a graphics card costs more than a whole new generation console which will most likely be highly supported for up to 5 years..

maybe im trying to fill a void.. idk

Just avoid getting caught up in the smoke and mirrors, 4K gaming is what 2yrs away at which point you'll want a new GPU anyway. Oculus Rift at lower res will be the next big thing.

What exactly can an overclocked 780 Ti do over and above an OC'd partner 780 & reference 290x is all that matters, so you can make a comparison and judge the value. For the AMD offering you can just factor in either added expense of 3rd party cooling options or waiting for custom partner solutions.

Nice analogy bro but it doesn't work like that.
