[Guide] Buying RAM for Conroe...

So if you had a E6300 CPU and you ran it at stock, and you had a 5300 or 6400 memory kit, would that mean the memory would have to run at 532MHz regardless of their stock speeds?

Say if you had the E6300 and 6400 RAM, would you be able to run both at 1.8GHz and 800MHz, respectively?

In that situation, would it be better to run the 6400 RAM at 532MHz or 800MHz? (Reason I ask is because of this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17609045)

Man, this is confusing :(

Hi there

The GeIL 2GB and 1GB PC2-6400 CAS 4-4-4-12 Kits are your best bet now. They can run at PC8500+ speeds at CAS 4-4-4-12 with ease and I've personally had a pair upto 1150MHz stable at CAS 4-4-4-12. Whats even more impressive is one of these 2GB Kits will only cost you £110+VAT! :)

Nothing can beat these kits when it comes to value for money and you will also find it hard to buy a better overclocking kit for more money as well, these really are the dogs danglies. :D

The code you want to be buying is MY-058-GL !!!! :)

Guys
has anybody managed to get 4 of the Geil sticks running on any of the Conroe boards out there stable. I'm running X64 so the price of these sticks is enticing me to go the whole hog and run with 4gb.
Overclocking is not the be all and end all for me...........more interested in stability.
