For reasons I can't fathom yet, Bluray players seem to make a much better fist of playing 24fps material (which virtually all BD discs are) at 60Hz, although they do look still look smoother at 24Hz.

PCs, OTOH, are a nightmare at 50 or 60Hz with 24fps material, introducing regular "jerks" to the video which is very very evident on any smoothly moving shots such as pans.

To be honest with you im thinking of dropping MP all together and going back to the old fashioned way of just launching files in explorer

Dont give up yet! Detective Oxy is back on the case! After a couple of days off, i'm back fiddling with event ghost and zoomplayer.

I have a break through. I have eventghost running mediaportal great with my MCE remote.

I also have zoomplayer being run through eventghost, its working great with my mce remote!

Now to try zoom layer inside mediaportal :s

i'll post back in 10 mins or so :)

ok found an official kmplayer plugin buried deep deep in kmplayer forums.

It works!, annoyingly though the actions file doesn't. So we are gonna have to manually add them :(

Now gonna test if the whole lot works, mediaportal and kmplayer at the same time.

hehe here we go!

ok real progress now. kmplayer works in eventghost via the winamp plugin. Just need to add some more commands like DVD menu & i think we will have something workable.

Is it working?????
I dont need DVD Menu - i just need Play, Pause, Stop, FFD in steps, RWD in steps, and Exit

What about WMP Classic or WMPC - Home Cinema Edition?

Right, but KMPlayer works which is a good thing.
NOW, how did you do it?

get the latest eventghost http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/

enable mce plugin, mediaportal - mediaportal needs messages plugin installed in mediaportal to work.

Remember to turn off mce remote support inside mediaportal. eventghost handles this now.

kmplayer can be found here: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=993

Copy the files into C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\

then enable it inside eventghost.

Then you gotta map all the keys lolz

Doesn't the plugin do that?

Copy KMplayer and the plugins in to C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\?

the plugin errors when trying ti import the actions. so it seems only manual bindings will work lolz. In reality I think we only need a handful of buttons anyway.

Leave kmplayer installed where it is.
