Guild Wars 2

:p. 2011/12 could turn out to be two amazing years, i'm sure you're feeling the same way after this announcement today and the other one which is awesome :D

All I am thinking is could be good, could be disappointing. Keeping grounded.

(only things which would ever get me excited and thinking awesome again, would be a UO 2 or a Daoc 2 :) )

Wait, have they remove the like rare drops of 'green/gold' items etc. and replaced them with karma/dungeon coins or something? Maybe i misread of GW Guru but i loved seeing when those dropped and getting all excited. Nearly as good as ecto drops in my first few UW goes.

Witcher 2, GW2, Skyrim and Diablo 3 could indeed all turnout to be complete crap :p

I hope not though.

Not even necessarily crap , merely disappointing or not meeting expectations. On the other hand they could be great. Just have to wait and see, I prefer to have low expectations and be surprised. Too many disappointments in the past when I've gone into a game with high expectations :)

Mobs will still drop loot, but you get better stuff from quest rewards and dungeon tokens.

I would assume that green weapons from bosses will still be in the game, but even in GW1, green weapons are pretty worthless because they are uncustomisable and generally very easy to farm.

Farming a boss for green weapons is usually easier to obtain a perfect weapon than looking for weapon mods is.

Aye okay, well gold items then, like those Zodiac Bows/White electric ones. Or Amethyst Shield or whatever. All amazing, mind you only ever got like one drop of those and bought the rest :p

Meh, the shear quantity of greens by the end there was almost guaranteed to be something that suited your requirements.

Gold items it only really mattered if you were interested in trading. Things like Chaos Axes and Sephis Axes early on in the game that were nigh impossible to get with good stats were always a 'fingers crossed' moment when ID'ing. But once greens came out there was more money to be gained from farming those than hoping for a 1 in a million chance of getting a rare skinned gold.

I'm currently levelling my Necro through Proph (level 12) Do you think I should complete everyone quest I get or keep them and focus on the Primary ones?

I've got all of them but I'm starting out in Proph and working my way through them :)

If you try to complete all of them you'll be still in Ascalon in a weeks time :p

Try to complete them while pushing forwards. Prophecies is gigantic compared to the other campaigns with lots of areas you have no reason to visit in primary missions. Well worth exploring but if you start getting bored just push on.

I think I'll keep the lower end quests in my quest log and I can re-visit them when needed.

There's no limit on how many quests you can have is there?

Dont bother with side quests, they are a complete waste of time of get you nothing good. Just focus on the main missions and completing the campaigns.

The only side quests worth doing are any in prophecies that give you free skills, any in NF that give trade contracts.

No you can have a quest log 2 miles long if you want. The only quests that are limited are the Zaishen Bounty/Vanquish/Mission/Combat ones which are limited to 3 each but they don't matter.

As bhavv said, try to do any and all quest that gives you free skills. Anything beyond that is entirely up to you. Quite a lot of quests send you to areas you'd never see otherwise (unless you came back to vanquish them) so it can be nice to look around.

Thanks :)

I think I'll skip doing them unless they give me something good like you've said :D
