Guild Wars 2

oh...

In an extremely hungover rage yesterday morning I did something that I may regret. Deleted my characters, quit my guild, and I'm sure there is some logic behind it changed my server.

This isn't the first time I've done this, one time after a heavy night drinking and clubbing I logged on to WOW. Only the next day to find out that I was no longer horde, but in fact Alliance, and had deleted my 80 Pala. At least this time with GW it didn't cost me 60 quid for 3 characters faction swaps. Also Blizzard were kind enough to reinstate my pala.

Thankfully I didn't delete my 80 Necro, but my alts are no more. So now I am rocking a Warrior at lvl 10. At least I can keep the same names. So embarrassed apologies to my ex guild mates. Nothing personal, and nothing against the guild. Just me being a *** :D

Brilliant :D Blood boil!

Guild Wars 2 is getting a little same-y for me and I'm only level 27. I feel like I'm missing out on something?

My highest is a 32 thief, and while I still enjoy it, I find I don't miss it in the slightest if I don't get to play for a few days. If the zones weren't so well constructed and pretty I don't think I'd find the game half as engaging.

It doesn't help that the zone spanning dynamic events just don't seem to be happening at all anymore. Maybe it's just the zones I happen to be in being bugged or something, but there seems to be very little happening in the way of events at the moment.

I just love te knockback skill on longbow, that and weakness stacking :D

Longbow just feels so slow now when I use it.

With Shortbow I tend to hit them with cripple, start flanking get 10 stacks of bleeding on them, then as they get close hit them with poison arrows, which up close gives them instant 5 stacks of poison (on top of the bleeding), by which time crip shot has recharged, dodge back, rinse and repeat until dead :D

With the bonus damage from flanking trait and +tons of condition damage points enemies just melt under dot.

Something is definitely up with the trade post, I've been pretty good at trading on it for ages, made a fair chunk of gold on it but the past 4-5 days have been incredibly hard to trade anything.

Within seconds of posting something up for sale, it gets undercut, items aren't selling as well, I've had things listed for days now, removed them, re-listed at lower prices and still not selling.

I think bot's have pretty much ruined the trade post now and it's starting to impact the economy in a bad way.

Many would say supply/demand are the issue and your right it is, the market is flooded with items from bot users and with bots also manipulating the trade post its becoming harder for normal players to trade for any profit at all.

I've always got the feeling that ArenaNet dont want players making lots and lots of Gold from the TP, becuase if you become "rich" you can buy lots of gems and effectivley never spend any real money on Gems.

The 20% selling tax, kinda shows this.

So is it bots or are ArenaNet controlling it?

Bots, arenanet have said they would never manipulate the market, the money i've made pales in comparison to some, a fellow guild member is sat with over 700g waiting to be spent. I've barely reached even 10% of that figure.

The market is flooded though and is clearly being manipulated by someone or something.

The trading post is worldwide.

I've 'played' the trading post a few times and made a few gold with minimal effort. If someone spent a few hours each day on it they could make crazy money.

I think with enough starting gold and dedication you could make better than minimum wage.

I may just push to max my character and try my hand on the trading post for a while, amass some gold and that's about it... I don't really see any longevity in this game to be perfectly honest. I'm also finding that the community in-game isn't very talkative and for a game that pve would be more fun played in teams, it just isn't entertaining me like it should be. I preferred GW1's system.

Allthough I agree with you somewhat as it stands, im quite happy slowly playing this game at my own pace, in and around other games....unlike WoW which litterally drained my life and evenings with sheduled RAIDS.

I will work towards legendarys over time and hope that future patches and content bring more to the PvE side of the game....the PvP side is great, but im not a massive PvPer.

Dont get me wrong, the dynamic events and dungeons are good.....but I still feel it lacks that final "get your guildies together and achieve something" from a PvE perspective, as 5 man dungeon token runs dont quite do it for me.

I started with 70 silver and made over 25g in a week, but now even with massive capital buying anything with buy orders to sell for profit usually results in a loss because bots undercut the market.

A very disturbing video of what bots are doing to the game and just how rampant they really are.

Yeah trading post is bot heavy atm, it'll get fixed before long.

Saying that tho, legendery prereq weapons have doubled in price in 2 days.

Dusk was about 110g on the weekend, it's about 230g now :|

Same goes for the others.

Never understand players and bots.....I know why the Chinese Farmers do it, to get as much gold to sell on their dodgy trojan keylogging implanting websites, but normal players botting to get skill points, just seems like your getting a robot to play for you.
