Guild Wars 2

That is also another tactic used by gold farmers, they will buy up any items of value and increase the prices substantially. This would basically increase the value of gold and make the currency held by players feel worthless.

Basically creating a desire to buy gold, 230g is far beyond what any one player could hope to achieve, in fact I bet 99% of players don't even have 10g let alone 200.

Based on current exchange rates of gold > $ that sword is valued at over a $1000 if you buy gems from ArenaNet or $200 if you buy from a gold farmer.

You must have been **** if you were playing any class using only 2 keys :p

Well, to be fair, I used all 4 keys, but 2 of them are on long cool downs, so it mainly felt like I was simply stood there pressing the same two keys over and over. Did the first two dungeons, but was really bored with the repetitive game play by then.

Such a shame, as I actually liked the visuals and the puzzles, along with all the Easter eggs in the game, it should have been great, but the combat system is too simple for my liking. Feels like a child's game :(

If you got the game for free then why ask for money? Especially if there is no proper character investment, or progress for the new owner to use e.g. mats or gold?

Plenty of members have given full games away which they received for nothing, me included with a copy of Sleeping Dogs, so this is no different. Not a big fan of profiteering, times aren't that tough.

more fool them...

I'm sorry but people saying you can use 2 skills is daft.

You "can" play any mmo with 2 skills easy. But if you are wanting to do well, achieve the best with your class and enjoy it you will use all 14 odd skills.

You can win by spamming as you can in any mmo but if you want to play like that you are bound to get bored, but you only have yourself to blame.

14 skills? Where are they all? There's 1-4 primary skills then the heal, and 3 more which are on extremely long cool downs? That 8 all in all, unless you're counting the underwater stuff, but that removes as many skills as it adds.

I'm not saying I only use 2 skills, I just said that it feels like that's all I'm using as the other 2 out of the 4 are on long cool downs, there's a heal which is used on occasion, and the other 3 skills (relics, runes, trinkets or whatever you want to call them) are all on exceptionally long cool downs.

So, yes, I used everything that's given to me, but mostly, you only get to push the number 1 and the number 2 keys as everything else is on a cool down.

5 weapon skills, heal, 3 utility and an elite.

you have the ability to swap weapons (so another 5 skills) and out of combat you can swap between all weapons + swap out utility. So 80?

Elementalists are unable to incombat weapon swap. But instead they can element attune in combat between fire water earth and air. Each one giving 5 unique skills. A staff is 20 skills. Never mind utility.

While you can just put 1 on autocast and occasionally press 2. If you want to do even story mode dungeons and actually contribute to the team or even get accepted into EM dungeons you will need to utilise you whole capability.

Same goes for gold event rewards particularly important dragons and such.

The 60+ zones require really 2 people to run around too and those 2 people need to know what to do. the 70-80 zones can be very hard to move about if not nearly impossible without a group and the events are tough too.

There are classes where one weapon combination is clearly superior to the others though - I almost never switch from the sword/pistol & shortbow setup for my thief now, I think that's why I'm beginning to get bored with it.

S/P + SB thats 15 skills.

And i regularly find myself slotting out utility between fights to best suit the upcoming fight.

Thats without even going into skill combos.

I do get the "samey" feeling from the game now im 80 and dont particularly feel like EM grinding for an exotic set. But iv still got things i want to do and the combat isnt the problem. Its the lack of challenge.

That's my problem in a nutshell. The game play and looks good, but I find absolutely no challenge in it.

Its now officially on the back burner for me.

Yup, I was expecting dragons and things like Zytan to take a few months before anyone manages to kill them.

Was a matter of days before the entire game was done. very dissapointed.

In comparison. EQ2s previous expansion from over a year and a half ago was only completed 1-2 months ago. And still today only by the top 5-6 guilds in the game.

While that is particularly extreme, the general idea of hardcore challenge would be nice.

EQ2 is a very raid focused game though (more so than WoW), I was expecting the Orr cycle to kill Zhaitan to be on a weekly basis - so he would only be killed once per week or something like that. Then again DE's throughout the levelling game spawn way to often for my liking.

I do think they have misjudged how people would attack the PvE content, and I'm hoping balancing is one of their main concerns. Then again, if they had gone down the too 'hard' route people would have just thrown the 'lol, f2p gindfest MMO' tag at them.

Mind you I'm not even 50 yet, gogo casual gamers! :D

I only just got to 80. Took my time. No grind and had a good old explore and adventure. As such im still enjoying the game.

Those who raced to 80 and asked where all the content is missed the main content of the game.... which is the entire game.

I agree EQ2 is a raid game (especially now where its raid or dont play) and its TOO hard to be successful with the mainstream but even so, zerging should not be a viable tactic.

Anyone can complete any of the content simply by zerging if they suck too much to do it properly. Which means pro players are not really seeing the benefit of their ability. Sure they get there quicker and expend less money on armour repairs but.... yeah... sucks a bit.

So Arenanet have come out and said that to date nobody has been banned for combat mod and infact their stance on thirdparty apps is different to the one expressed by their forum team. They go on to clarify some things. I'm back to using combat mod now... :)
