Guild Wars 2

What's the best non-grind way to get karma. Right now I am doing WvW and get karma that way, is it the most efficient way to get it while no grinding?

WvW is the best non-grind way of karma farming.

The only other way to really get lots of karma is doing the repeatable event chains in Orr, and eventually the DR code will kick in making it not worth it.

A mix of events and WvW is your best bet for getting lots of Karma.

@People complaining about botting, what really bothers you about it? It isn't like it gives anyone a real advantage as it's only gold sellers. The only thing it does is drive down the price of mats which I don't think is too horrible. I don't approve of it, but in a game where you can buy gold anyway, it seems a bit pointless to worry yourself about them when you could just get on and enjoy the game.

It does quite the opposite, it drives the prices up.

In economics, inflation is a rise in the general level of prices of goods and services in an economy over a period of time.

Economists generally agree that high rates of inflation and hyperinflation are caused by an excessive growth of the money supply.

Works just the same in game. More money in the economy means gold is devalued so prices rise.

Sounds like some nice stuff for the sPvP crowd, not really my cup of tea, its WvW which interests me. Hopefully that will get some additional features down the road too (such as guilds who claim towers/keeps being able to build a waypoint at their tower/keep for guildmember use, and a repair npc, in guild notification if a keep/tower you have claimed comes under attack so that you can head to defend it, some kind of ability to donate supply to a keep/tower which you are carrying, some kind of way to dismantle siege weaponry that you have built and get back either a portion of the supply, or have a portion of the supply donated to the nearest keep/tower, large shared WvW dungeon and so on and so on)

Agree about some wvw love bring nice, but early days I guess.

Would like to see better rewards for defending, at the mo it promotes the Zerg mentality.

Prices have only been going down from what I have seen, and the amount of gold being introduced into the game from bots can't be any higher than a small amount of the cash introduced by players. The flooding of materials onto the market will drive prices down more than anything, as the lower material prices will drive down the prices of gear and the likes, and other prices tend to adjust to match that.

kidding right? Im not sure what level your at but if your at 80 youd be mad if your doing serious farming runs (which you should be if your 80). Its not about the TP its about the drops (the TP was screwed the day the game came out), if your in a farming group and running events only to have anywhere between 5 and 15 bots in the same area all spamming AOE you have no chance.

Last night was the worst I have seen in a while I think in an hours play I got about 40 non-trophy drops total, normally I can manage about 100 easily.

and why would you buy Gold? that's a ridiculous suggestion.

Had my first experience of bots in the game last night - a load of rangers and pets all with similar names doing an endless circle in kessex hills, auto attacking anything in range.

Reported them, be interesting to see if it made any difference.

How can anyone say there isnt a problem with botting?

A few things first!

The trading post is worldwide, not just server based....so the economy gets totally trashed...meaning if you ever want to sell anything or try your hand at making some gold on the trading post, you cant as you are instantly undercut by these cretins.

There are also botters who run in a figure of 8 in WvW around an area that has skrits.....this same area turns into a dynamic event, to kill skrits......so they get the karma/EXP and Silver with it....you might think this isnt an issue.....but when 50+ players are doing it, thats a big chunk of the player cap doing nothing towards trying to take the map back and actually play the WvW so our server looses.

Botters should be perma banned as its nothing more than cheating and ruins the game for others.

While I completely agree 100% that bots need to be dealt with and are detrimental to the gameplay experience, I just wanted to say that the part about not being able to make money on the TP isn't strictly true.

I've been playing the TP for a little while now and made 20g in the last 3-4days from about 30mins time on the TP each day. Very little time for a nice reward in my opinion (im only level 40ish on my main so not sure if 20g is actually much gold at lvl80 but it seems pretty decent so far).

So it is definitely possible to make gold on the TP, if I invested more time into it i'm sure I could have made plenty more.

Really?

Everything I put on there just doesnt sell as they undercut it straight away....maybe I need to re-think my strategy...but they are definetely messing it up as its got more diffcult and with Arenanet putting a 20% tax on everything you sell...low margins arent possible.

If you go to character selection, then when you select your character again it'll teleport you to the spot you was when you entered WvW. great for if you was doing something when the queue came up, and want to return there after without going through mists/lions arch.
