Guild Wars 2

I've only just realised how easy it will be to farm daiy achievement, to be honest I never really looked in to what made it up so just went along and getting it was a bonus, now I know the pre-reqs going to be pretty simple to farm which will be a nice karma boost :)

WvWvW was interesting last night on Desolation. Spent most of the night getting pounded by Seafarer's Rest constantly, every attack getting wiped on whatever zone we were in. After midnight though it really ramped up with IRON leading the way again, took back almost everything in every zone in the space of 2 hours! A night well spent and the XP was coming in thick and fast once the ball was rolling!

I hope it's not against the rules to post that IRON are recruiting for more Desolation WvWvW players atm:

I joined a while back just as I was getting bored of PvE and have been having a blast :D

Anyone play Mesmer?

What build do you use?

Levelling a Mesmer alt right now and some help would be nice :)

Get yourself a Greatsword then go down the power/crit line. The starting weapons are probably the worse

Edit: I’m a shatter/crit build. Basic idea is to create clones to shatter and then use the greatsword for big hits. It not obvious at first but the clones (the chars mesmer’s spawn that looks like them) do pitiful damage but are great for shattering. The illusions (the ghostly ones) do decent damage.

I have a staff as secondary weapon but that really for a condition build which I don’t run. The staff shield (4) and 2 ability great for running away when things get too hot! The staff’s combo, 5 then 2, also gives another shield and teleports you away.

Finally the 4 ability (illusionary wizard) does increased damage for every condition on a mob. Usefully for world boses or WvWvW where other ppl are laying down conditions.

For traits generally want anything that increase the clone generation rate, shatter and crit output.

Is it just me, or is the chat system really awkward on this game?

It seems really counter intuitive and actually a bit difficult to talk to people walking around you...

Are the immortals still active on guild wars now that PS2 is live? I've just picked it up again after a long hiatus and feel I need to be involved in a guild. On Desolation and play most evenings, PVE and PVP (team and WvWvW) are both enjoyed as well as ramblings on mumble/vent.

Yes we are, tho not as active as I would like, but we still doing ok lot better than a lot of the other guilds.

Well, I'm currently mainly representing Underworld Battalion (nick: WvW) on Gandara and we have a few Commanders and run Guild ops pretty much every night. Stonemist Castle was flying our banner for much of yesterday, which is good and we always have something going on.

It's much better being in an active guild now. The other guild I'm in is not so active but I have massive GW1 history with them and will always be part of that community, but they're not meeting my gaming needs in GW2 at all.

They have overfill servers, I think they need to look into underfill servers too.

I love the DE system and how the game is set up but Orr is a write off 90% of the time because people are just hanging round LA or grinding dungeons. If zones are under repped they should pull you and put you on a mixed server underfill so you can still get groups. That or make it more rewarding to do world events (so better karma, or more variants of stuff, available from karma) or make the daily achieve level dependant, forcing 80s into Orr to do it. They need to do something be ause Orr is a pain right now, on desolation I haven't seen us hold Balth temple in 3 weeks, pathetic!

Orr used to be packed, that's where everyone was end game. But since Plinx got nerfed, and Fractals got introduced they've all packed up and moved to LA to run the dungeon as its far more profitable.

That's the problem with the game atm, rewarding content is far too localised, it needs spreading out, theres tons of cool areas in the game that are deserted because after you pass their designed level its just not worth going back to them.

They'll have to change it sometime down the line. They did it on GW1 by introducing Hard Mode, Vanquishing, and putting end game quest chains that lead to low level areas.

I've given up on trying to complete the campaign now. Arah in Orr is never open. I've tried dozens of times over the past few weeks and it's always closed. Chances of getting a group are slim, unless I get my guildies to run it with me but as it's never open we can't even do that. Totally pointless.

Level specific daily achieve is what's needed. That and top level zones in Orr offering tokens for completing metas in the zone (daily) to get skins or vanity items to drag players back in.

I still enjoy endgame despite the state of Orr, I'm a DE player and still having a lot of fun saving up for my top level gear set from Balth. Need 4 peices at 168k and have around 120k at mo.

Hey guys, Just a word of warning. My in game name is Naarox, It seems my accounts been hacked as i havnt played it in about 2-3 months and my girlfriend went on earlier as she has the game too and saw that someone was on. Asked me about it and said I have no idea so tried to log in myself and it said "the email adress/password you have entered is invalid".

Anyway went to put a ticket on the issue to arenanet and while looking through my emails to see proof of purchase i noticed i had an email which says

"Someone -hopefully you!- has requested to change the email address associated with your Guild Wars account.

Need help or have questions about your Guild Wars account? Visit our support site: http://support.guildwars2.com/.

Thanks!

-The ArenaNet Team"

The stupid thing being it gives you no option to say no it was not you who requested it.

Anyways girlfriends looked closer and it seems it must have been like that for a good while as the person who's currently on is a lvl 80 ranger whereas the only character I ever created was a lvl 30 Charr Necro.

Anyway guys, especially the Immortals...the person who has been on for the last 2-3 months is not me.

The hacker killed my beautiful Charr, Now im stuck with a stupid Female (never would i pick female), Human (urgh), Ranger (sad panda). Lvl 80 mind hehe, Thing I dont understand is the **** only made one character so why the hell did he delete mine, he had 4 other character slots to use. Ohhh well hope hes happy wasting all that time getting this character to lvl 80...Arse!
