Guild Wars 2

Heh, lucky for you. I went in to kill some Charged Blackness earlier (found an old bounty on my ranger). First i forgot to change it to HM, then i forgot to change my bar and went in with 2 blank skills, then i thought i'd try Escort of Souls and got massacred by the first mob of 9 Mindblades ><

Dont do it on HM with heroes. I can manage Tortured Spirits, Escort of Souls, Servants of Grenth (very hard but doable), Demon Assassin and Terrorweb Queen with heroes, but then as soon as you get to the four horsemen or unwanted guests, it get rather epic hard.

I actually wasted 1k for entering with the wrong attributes yesterday. I play an E/Mo prot bonder in UW which makes most of it easy peasy, and I was messing around with my attributes to see if there were any other builds I could try out. I set my protection prayers to 0, raised water up to 12 and put on my +4 water head gear to check out ward against harm which I thought might be better for the terrorweb quests. I decided not to try it though because its a waste of an elite, and I had the +24 armor PVE ward equipped anyway. So I went back to UW, paid 1k, and entered as a prot bonder with 12 Energy Storage and 16 water magic QQ.

<--- Stupid.

i think someone takes their gw a bit seriously ^^ .

i play to have a laugh, occasioanlly tag up for some serious ownage and occasionally go into the low level stuff to run someone or help people out in a quest.
iv seen some horrible groups where literally im the last person standing but they are in the minority nowadays, and most people either know what their doing from memory, or if not certainly have the wiki page open in another window so they can see whats what
...all in all i welcome new people to the game regardless of skill, the community needs new players in it to create a dynamic world regalrdess of whether the 2nd one is months away, else the game will just be full of stuck up players who have superiority issues. <--and thats a game i defaintly dont want to play.

I've been playing it for over 5 years on and off. Its the only game I've enjoyed so much since Baldur's Gate and Morrowind.

Well unfortunately, the game is full of those, particularly once you get to the end game content. Try looking at the requirements for groups looking for underworld speed clears. But they will prefer to play alone with heroes now.

GW1 has been an elitist game from the start, its fun when you start out, but the more you get into the game, the less enjoyable it becomes to group with others, particularly in PVP which I gave up ages ago.

The only thing that keeps me playing is that I can play the whole game entirely on my own.

I wasn't intending to :p Been there and done it with triple 600 tanks (i think) a while back but i just wanted the Charged Blackness bounty and to then wander around. Mindblades were probably a stupid choice to fight when i entered with 4x Rangers for some Ranger Spiking :p

Pff :p My ele loves her Thunderclap build atm. Bit of Fevered Dreams from Gwen and everythings conditioned nicely.

So people clear UW without grouping up and do it mainly with heroes now?
Sounds a bit boring, loved the full sin runs =<

I'll take playing UW with heroes over requiring such a high number of end chest stones to get into super cheese fest sinway speed clears.

Assassins simply need to be deleted from GW, as does everything that was ever made using a single Ecto that dropped for an assassin.

Hero teams help out everyone playing a class that no one wanted to have in their parties for end game content.

You call clearing UW with heroes boring and advocate the use of the most ridiculously tedious build ever invented? Interesting...

Frankly, Anet killed the game the moment they refused to deal with Shadow Form. Leaving it in game for so long reduced most end-game stuff to SF builds.

Funny that both Obsidian Flesh, and Elementalist Savannah Heat UW farmers (thank you for Skeletons of Dhuum!) both got severely nerfed when neither was as strong as Shadow Form, but sins can still maintain permanent invincibility.

Bloody retarded balance this game has. Oh, and mesmers do far more damage than Elementalists do anymore.

In order to get into groups for end game content, Elementalists have to run Ether Renewal protter builds. Though even with heroes, that is all I run anymore because it is vastly superior to any damage build Elementalists can make now, and you load up on necromancer, mesmer and ritualist heroes for massive damage instead.

I need GW2, my elly main character is very sad now that nuking is obsolete in GW :(

Atleast people were willing to group up and do it together back then, I find playing with humans far more fun than heroes. A bit of diversity in the classes that are available for use would help though =p

Humans? You mean the elitist morons who would rage at anything and everything if something in those dull, repetitive speed runs, didn't go completely to plan? Unless you had like minded people in your guild/alliance, it was SF speed runs or nothing.

i played with a group of 5 friends, so only 3 people pugged =P

But yeah when i went solo it wasn't the best with puggers =P

Why bother doing it if you were going with friends? The whole attraction of SF UW speed runs was that any imbecile could join a group of strangers and finish UW with minimal effort. If you knew that many people who weren't incompetent at the game then why not do something more... original?

They were incompetent at the game :p?

If you play WoW at all, they struggled with 6/12 ICC10 normal during WOTLK.
Also GW was very casual for me, GW2 will most likely be the same.

What more original thing weres there to do?

A game where elementalists heal better than monks, and mesmers nuke better than elementalists:

Haha, golden :)

Edit: Makes me think of the runekeeper class in LotRO - deadly nuker, perfectly capable of switching to powerful heals mid-battle. If you're talented right, you're pretty much unkillable :)
