Guild Wars 2

Apparently people are server hopping using the guesting function and farming big events chests (now they always include a rare drop). This is turn is helping to cram full regular servers when big events happen and often you can't even get on your own main server to do events. Yesterday for eaxmple I missed The Claw of Jormag and The Behemoth because of the server being full and absolutely bugger all happening on the overflow server when the event was taking place.

In fact at one point I was overflow waiting for The Shatterer and it went from saying the pre-event was on to prepare a strike against him to suddenly saying The Shatterer has been defeated. Annoying!

I still can't bring myself to begin playing this again.....the story line just isn't as compelling for me, and the game play......was such a repetitive yawn fest after leveling 3 or 4 characters.

Perhaps I will one day open the game and be hooked again....who knows...but for now....its a dormant icon on the desktop.
Shame...I thought it would be so good, having played GW1 for 7 years and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Anyone got any tips to help me love this once more?:(

Get into a good guild, get into doing Dungeons, get into playing Fractals, get into WvW, stop flitting between alts and try just working on one character instead, set yourself some targets.

Honestly the single player storyline is the worst thing about GW2, you can pretty much just ignore it if you don't like it.

Without a reasonable group to chat to and do little runs with the game would be dull. Personal story I tend to completely ignore until I'm level 60 then I hammer it - takes me all the way to 80 very quickly.

Dungeon runs are a good laugh and PVP seems to be getting better too, but I don't play as much as many people despite having 4 level 80s I'm only on an hour a night mostly but still get a kick out of it.

Yeah I don't burn out on it, I only get to play after the kids are in bed, so I usually get to do my daily, and a dungeon, or a set of fractals in the evening before bed :o

I do put a fair few hours in on a weekend though :D

I find it insanely compelling. I love how interactive the world is in regard to grouping with other players, I can happily just do world events. Each levelling experience is unique and that makes it great. (IMO of course)

Just started doing and enjoying dungeons now I'm in a new guild and having a lot of fun. Guild missions starting soon as well :) can't wait! :)

I just find there is always so much to do, new dailies have really populated the world again as well.

Um, I actually enjoyed my Elementalist's personal story  To show you how slow am I actually taking it though, I'm only now just hitting 80% world completion.

Sad as it is, my son sits on my lap and we do a jumping puzzle together a few times a week, he tries to figure out the way we go and controls the jumping and I move 'our' dude (I say our, he has told me on numerous occasions the Ele is his and I have to make to with my level 19 thief alt :D). He loves it.

Hahah.....I used to do that in GW1 with my boy....but now he is 10 years old, and GW2 launched, he wanted his own account...so that cost me a pretty penny on launch day:cool:

I hear what you are saying guys...doing this alone has been a little dull and perhaps what I missed in GW1 was when I left a guild. Although having said that, when I was unemployed Aug - Dec it initially kept me occupied, but I guess I gorged on it with one lvl 65 Ele, one lvl 38 Mesmer, one Lvl 38 Warrior & one Lvl 35 Necro.....I guess too much of anything can wear you out....I might upload latest patch , have a beer tonight and see what is what.

Fractals? What are they? I need to read up while the game updates me thinks :o

Didn't say I didn't enjoy it :D Just out of everything there is to do in GW2 the story is probably the weakest point.

You certainly do! There's lots off stuff been added/changed/tweaked. And you really need to get a toon up to lv80!

I've played a solid amount of GW2 since beta/launch and absolutely love the game still. Although I'm at a point where I can easily find time to play other games which are coming out (thankfully) as I've done a lot of the content currently available.

I've 4 characters at 80 all well geared, and still love the game which is more than I can say for previous MMO's, and I can only see it getting better. With constant content updates every month, I personally find it hard to fault ArenaNet on providing playability in GW2.

Implementation on some of said content though is a different story :P

Lets hope they sort out the overflow stuff in event area's soon, because as mentioned, it really isn't fair for people on the "home" server to be getting cut out of events like the drakes.

I've given it another shot, got a Level 6 Ranger on Desolation server; if any friendly guilds about that wouldn't mind me for a social point of view (i wont be at end game for some time) - I do like the exploring aspect of the game and as a Ranger there are lots of pets for me to get! XD

:)

drop me a message in game if you want mate, tiny guild but friendly and we do stuff together fairly regularly.

Alternatively look at the immortals and IRON both nice guilds.

Atkin mate, not in game just now but will be tomorrow on and off through out the day :)
I might give you a yell too if you don't mind, seeing as though my current guild is dying off rapidly. Would you be too fussed if I stay in my guild as well? Got friends and family in there... might even be able to convince them to join too :).

Account name is Crowze.4867, charname The Fbi :)

I just dropped some money in the gem store to extend my bank slot and get a new character slot.

Got and 80 mes and necro fully geared with a 40 ranger 32 Engi and 20 Warr in the making. Can't decide if I want to use my new slot on Ele, Thief or Guardian though :o
