Guild Wars 2

If you don't want the pre-purchase headstart then yet it's the cheapest out there.

It's the bank holiday weekend that Headstart begins, so miss 3 days out of play if your off but then again you may not have time to play or have other commitments.

Im more concerned about the heroes band.... if its an item which I will find better gear in game to replace, then its not worth the extra £15.

Just need an UW spider for 50/50 now. And it will be about time, been sat on 49 for months.

Nice and easy. You can Hero the UW these days.

Not like the good ol' days where the first Aatax would rip everyone a new one :D

Overkill for gw2, you'll hardly see more than 30-40% usage on either cpu or gpu ;-). Unless you're planning on running 3 screen surround then it's probably just about right.

Excuse the colors and stuff was making a new sig but I was having some FPS issues with the below rig on both 1920x1200 and 2560x1600 res
Asus Rampage IV Extreme || i7-3930K || Watercooled Xigmatek Elysium Case
SLI EVGA 4GB Superclocked GTX 670 || Hazro HZ30Wie || HP LP2475w
Bigfoot Killer 2100 NIC || 512GB M4 SSD || 64GB OCZ Agility SSD || 2TB SATA 6Gb/s HD
Asus Xonar Essence STX || XFX 1050W Blackedition Pro || RipJawz 16GB 2133MHz ram

Best to think of the HoM as ANets way of rewarding those original players of GW1.

You are not going to get 30 point from scratch without assistance, and certainly not without a great deal of play and time.

Trust me 30 points doesnt take long at all, if you have a some money then it can be quite quick, its just when you get to the point where you only have the hard points left then your time per point increases.

If anyone needs any help or minipets ( i have some spare) pm me 'Sir pie the great' I was like 13 when i made it :cool:

Either system / drivers problem or server side, had people in guild running way worse specs with 0 prob.

Most likely server side / game itself as there were plenty of server problems during the beta.

Was strange as at the start it was fine like 100 + FPS everywhere then later in the evening it all just went gay :(

Sometimes 2560x1600 you will get less than 60fps but not by much with a rig like mine. At these points cpu usage reaches 100% on a single core and gpu usage never really gets 100% used but close to it in certain circumstances, in other words heavy overclocking is recommended and yes I would get an improvement if I overclocked more but a 7970/670/680 single card is enough to guarantee you'll never need anything extra in the initial release version.

The old system the i7 930 @4ghz with the gtx480sli was not a slideshow but nowhere near as impressive when tried on that one card or two with dips into the 30s at the same resolution but the ingame vram usage didn't use over 1500mb so it wasn't that.

No pre-order/pre-purchase item ever is that good and are all quickly replaced. If they did make it so it was really good, it would be stupid as it would force everyone to buy it from them otherwise they would be at a disadvantage.

Wab, I joined The Immortals for SWTOR (although I only played briefly). Will I need to do anything (i.e. apply again) to join you guys in GW2? Joined website and forum as Rhaegar.

Cheers.

Nope you fine I will reactive your account :D

Added: and done :p ...see when Blounty not messing up I'm super quick :o

Was probably SLI, as i was having issues and i'm currently SLI'd up. A lot of people reported SLI issues with GW2.

There's no SLI "issue", the second card just isn't utilised... as Nvidia haven't created a profile for it yet.

Manually set AFR2 in nv control panel & then both cards are used.

I'm still on the fence about buying this or not. I was a huge GW1 fan and played it solidly from 2005-2009. I've hardly touched it over the past couple of years and could never be bothered with the pointless grind for titles and the like - I ran out of steam @ 27 maxed titles and 40/50 HOM.

I'd love to give GW2 a try but I'm back off to uni to do a masters in October so it might not be the best idea to get a new mmo :confused:

Can't remember my specs off hand but I have an average rig and I was running with no problems. Shocked by how good it was.

For example my girlfriend doesn't know her specs off hand and tells me 'look at how well this game I just got runs' I look over at the stuttering mess of the fps cap of somewhere between 28-32fps shuddering around on the screen. But I guess I've just got decent eyes and hey you know what if you're happy then I'm happy I just like it a bit more silky.
