++Guitar Hero World Tour unoffical thread++

Cool, cheers guys, my concerns have been addressed. Looking forward to getting this; it's going to be the first guitar game I will own. I'll also be picking up Rock band and GH3 in the xmas sales so it seems i'll have a bit of an overdose.

gh2 and 3 are both musts, they are better than world tour

Think I remember why I stopped playing the drums on this the other week. I find it really annoying how there is nothing along the bottom for timing the pedal. I know you have to hit when it is on the gems and I should really be timing it with the song but I'm really struggling with it for some reason on this.

just got rid of mine, i was happy with the drums (exlcuding the sensitivity issue) the whammy bar on the guitar squeeked, the down strummer stuck sometimes so it didnt click next time i pressed it which was really offputting, and the slider didnt seem to hot either.

Microphone was ok.

now its gone i will get the drums when they become available on there own. and try and source a new GH3 Guitar for a reasonable price.

*forgot to put the mic and game back in the box on refund so still available for band get togethers :D

you must have got a dodgy guitar, couldnt fault mine.

i just got this today (never played 2/3 so bare with me) i started a career with a dave grohl lookalike as bass just to get the jist of it, but when i try and play a quick song out of career as a guitar and not the bass it still comes up as bass no matter what song am i missing something

Im finding that World tour has been made easier than GH3?

Also if you use 2 guitars and are pretty close to each other sometimes they interfere with each other, as the buttons fail to work now and then. Thats while using the old guitar and the new one.

Keeping a little distance sorts it though, but pretty sloppy as GH3 was fine with this.

I bought this on Monday with the guitar for PS3 and have played through about 70% of the songs in the carear mode, only on easy though, I'm new to guitar games...

I'm still struggling with the faster sections though, even when it's the same note and I'm just having to strum quickly. I just can't get the quicker timing right. It also seems like the guitar is dropping notes occasionaly when I'm sure I've hit them fine.

There never seems time to get to the slider bit for the few times it's needed too, so I tend to ignore it.

Do the harder difficulty levels make a bit more sense on some songs? as it seems the easy level misses out notes which sometimes messes up the timing or flow of the tune. I can't imagine I'll ever be able to attempt the hardest level, my fingers just aren't fast enough.

Is it worth trying Rock Band? Is it any better?

Playing through on easy misses out tons of notes, same with rock band, that's just how it is unfortunatly. If you want your missing notes back try it on expert ;)

im a slightly more experienced player of this and also noticed a lot of the issues you mentioned re:slider dropped notes etc.

You will get better with practice ive been playing around a year and now do most songs on expert.

rock band is a better game however its not as forgiving as GH:WT so maybe that is the right game to be playing at the moment.

however i would imagine once youd cracked the basics you will have more fun with rockband.

How to totally own anysolo ingame inculding van halen intro on expert:
NO SKILL INVOLVED! lol...
anyway i was bored earlier and was frustrated at van halens intro then bam i thought if i rub my hand up and down the fret buttons with right hand thumb uber fast then the game wont penalise me for notes i miss and will pick up most of the solo, result= MAHOOSIVE blister SO
idea2. put sock on my right hand, place left hand on start button, right thumb on frets repeat idea, sock makes your hand slide over button, aviods blisters, at the end of the solo press start take off glove.
discovery of the year methinks
ps you have to move your hand insanely fast i mean fast as you can fast.
ps also i dont care about punctuation.
