Gumball 3000 to start this Sunday.

The huge CB radio antenna on the white Lamborghini Murcielago ripped off at 200mph somewhere in Serbia. The antenna barely missed a few cars which were following close behind.

The Team Polizei Bentley GT was almost hit by a small airplane on the main highway leading to Belgrade. The small aircraft was no more then 20 feet above the highway as it flew by and its passengers took photos.

Hahaha, great stuff :D :D

Shame about the SLR's. Not very reliable from the looks of things. Wonder how the Enzo is getting on :D

:p Would'nt suprise me :D

Was'nt it last year or the year before that, where in eastern Europe a few cars got Hijacked?

I remember seeing it on a videon off the net or on a Gumball DVD.

can't remember seeing it anywhere in the thread but for those that don't know theres coverage of GB3000 on Extreme sports on sky.
As for the event itself, i never really followed it before but been watching highlights from last years event and following this years event so far and i'm hooked lol.

I fear its getting too much publicity now, i preferred it when you could mention it and no one had a clue what you were on about.. although this is a motors section.

Even so, there was a russian a few years back. Had a kitted out 'anti mafia' BMW, bullet proof etc, the works... guess what happened to it...

It got blown up.. gutted.. [no one was injured though]

Beany started the day off in a friends car which broke down with engine trouble, then he had to change back into the Lambo. We were running with adam in his white Lambo when the road became bumpy Adam’s car took off and landed 40 feet down the road

When I hit the bump i was just overtaking so when i hit the bump the car was at an angle so took off and landed thru the trees and the car came to rest at an angle in the car park of a bar

Pete says:
the car looks like it was parked there despite the damage, we are now having a few beers in the bar. Adam has since carried on and all is fine another Lambo has crashed 40 miles up the road, again all ok

we have a ride back to Pukhet with the ferrari guys and lambo lads I have chartered a private jet to take all 7 of us to Bankok then back on the planes, I have a ferrari F430 sat on the runway in saltlake city.

So many crashes. They must drive these things like complete idiots. I'm all for sticking the loud pedal every now and then, but when you're driving a supercar on roads you don't know, there are limits.

Fools.

Search google video for "Gumball 3000" and you will see why there are so many crashes.
They drive like fool, big rich fools

"Team Polizei woke up an hour early today to get fueled up - Didn’t make it back to starting line until 8:20, 20 mins after everyone else left. They are now playing catch-up. Team warned NOT to use police lights and sirens. On the phone, I barely heard Alex over the phone due to the Sirens being so loud."

Before they started leaking oil, which means they must have caught the field and got to the front as the Lambos that crashed were at the front and the Bentley ran over their debris.

it all goes to show you can have a 100k plus car, but this does not give you a slip of paper to say you can actually drive one.

Shame really, what a total waste idiots!

I wouldnt really class them as idiots. They probably know how to drive their vehicles comprehensively, but not knowing the roads and pushing the cars as they like to do your always on a knife edge... its surprising that there arnt more accidents considering. Although, it does make me think.. they could have just given the car to me instead of smashing it up... :( lovely cars..

Lol, they dont really intend to smash up thier cars. Im sure they would want them in one peice at the end of the Gumball.

Just come cars, break when pushed hard. Shouldnt happen to a car that costs a fortune, but it does. Take the McLaren SLR. 3 out of 5 that entered the race have broken down. Alternator problems I think.

One of the F40 broke before it even set off from London :p

The Gumball is very unpredictable. Thats why people love it. Its an experience. Anything can happen.

Look at that nice Roller. £250,000 worth, smashed. Would be a nice lump of cash to fix that. Its only money to them at the end of the day. Its a once in a life... Well I should say, A Year experience for them :D
