I don't see how you'd be harassed any more than anyone who is already a millionaire such as Mark Zuckerberg, or Carlos Slim, Sutan of Brunei etc.. Oh wait, they are all billionaires ;)

Guess you'd be seen as an easy target due to being new to it all while the people you listed have people around them.

Crazy amount to win, I can see him setting up a positive thinking institute.

Wish i was in a Ramen Shop Counter
Put 90% of it into trust, 10% in bank accounts, live off interest until i can decide what i can do with it.

Paying off mortgages for family is a must but I wouldn't give them so much that they will be sitting on their bum all day.

Don't tell anybody where the money comes from, build up your spending slowly, pretend you started your own online business or something. Don't go out tomorrow and buy a Ferrari before you even move out of your current residence, unless you already live in a very nice neighbourhood where Ferraris are the norm.

Use the wealth to live comfortably, don't flash it.

When Lotto first started a guy at work said why would you want to win more than a £1m - He was a bit short sighted as well.

I wouldn't mind winning £280 at this moment.

There’s 4 people I’d tell and no more, my mum and dad and 2 sisters.

Not a single penny would go to charity or any donations.

I’d also move to a new country and pretend to live off a good wage rather than letting people know I’m loaded.

Doesn't matter how big, there's always stuff you can do with it. I would get some university's to do research and do a lot of traveling.

he didn't actually win $450million (even before taxes) - it's a misleading figure used for promotion of US lotteries based someone taking the prize over multiple years

he's won more like $280 million as a lump sum and after federal taxes he'll be left with $170 million... so less than half of the amount the press are quoting (not sure if there would be local taxes too)

Like that matters, It's still 170 million whatever way you look at it :D

Watch how many "friends" crawl from out of the woodwork if you have that amount of money.

Yeah you can do one MATE!

It would be incredible to win that sort of money, so many things to do with it.

The perfect home
The perfect holiday homes
The perfect car collection
The perfect boat to cruise for a year in
The perfect private plane to go when and where you want
The perfect angel fund to keep you busy investing in interesting businesses
The opportunity to change some peoples lives for the better
The ability to secure friends and family

Spent.

Back to doing the lottery again the week after collecting it :)

I wouldn't tell anyone. I'd just leave the country.

I'd probably spend most of my time on a yacht with a gaggle of super models until I die of heart attack from Viagra overdose

If in this country could you buy say 90% of lottery ticket combinations. Obviously you couldn't stand in a shop and order say 12 million tickets but is there a way to somehow order as many tickets as this.

I don't think you can, they try to stop people/syndicates from doing it if/when they try. I think one couple managed to do it in a smaller US lottery with fewer possible ticket combinations but they literally did have to get a shop owner involved and put them through the machine.

Obviously if they allowed people to sign up and register to use some public API then you'd not get the multiple rollovers putting tickets well into +EV territory as plenty of speculators would step in guaranteeing a win on the next draw... which would kill the whole marketing aspect of it - multiple rollovers attract more people and if each one is won by some nerd with his own hedge fund as soon as it gets large enough then the general public would get a bit put off.
