Gwent: The Witcher Card Game

Yeah the drop rate is awful. Even worse I got duplicate Triss legendary in a keg, shortly followed by duplicate Donar. :(

But on the bright side I did get premium Cerys a few kegs after that which is awesome. :D Then having pulled Coral and Madman Lugos among other it seems the game wants me to play Queensguard!

After much (a serious amount of) deliberation I made the decision that I don't like Nilfgaard thematically at a fundamental level and don't enjoy playing them - hence I decided to mill the entire faction. Similarly I don't like Consume Monsters thematically so decided to scrap the Unseen Elder and any cards related to the consume archetype in Monsters. Yes this could be seen as a stupid decision however it's done. It's enabled me to get extra golds I was after like Renew in order to have more fun with other factions and decks. I can't see myself regretting this because the theme of a "class"/"faction"/"character" in any game has to resonate with me and Nilfgaard and Consume Monsters just rub me the wrong way - I'm not a big buff on Witcher lore, just going by what I've seen playing the games.

So I'm planning to focus on all of Skellige, all of Scoia'tael (just need Ithlinne and RNR to complete a spell deck), all of Northern Realms (really keen on playing a weather/mage deck as well as a blue stripes deck) and Wild Hunt Monsters (freezing everything is fun).

I think that's more than enough variety - at least half a dozen decks with different archetypes to keep the game fresh for me.

Well you never know what is going to be OP as **** in up-coming changes, so pretty brave milling the whole faction :)
True, but I choose classes by feel in any kind of "rpg" that has the option, regardless of how powerful they are. :)

I think between the other four factions I have more than enough to keep me occupied as well as to build strong decks.

As a side note - horrible server connection issues right now. Been trying to play but the game keeps kicking me out. :/ Can't even modify a deck.

Been playing this a little bit recently. Is it worth picking up some card keys at all? My current hand is missing some important cards I think so I'll probably need to get some extra cards at some point.

Having said that it is great fun to play this game for 30 minutes or so when you have some spare time.

Edit: I did buy the starter kit which was useful but I am still missing a lot of cards.

I'm still enjoying the game but I think making everything agile was a mistake, and I'm disappointed that they still haven't introduced a draft mode, or attempted to address the coin flip.
