H1Z1 - Zombie apocalypse sandbox from SOE

Well that's pretty rubbish. No playing when I have time off work. Still probably be emerged in E: D by the so probably won't need to risk pre-release purchase.

The game will come in two Early Access versions. The first is priced at $19.99, and it will let players dive into the game. A second, more expensive version will provide access to additional game mode servers

If it is going to have such large maps then I hope they introduce some sort of scrap bus transport system or have a wide choice of vehicles to repair and maintain that don't despawn on server restarts!

I am looking forward to this but Epoch on A3 and Breaking Point has got my attention, DayZ SA has not been touched for quite a while.

64 square km map, and only 15 vehicles will spawn  So this is just as much of a running simulator as Dayz SA.

Also, I bet the base building suffers from the same issues as Rust where people (hackers especially) build walls around your base so you can't complete it.

Meh...wake me up when there is something out as good as A3:Breaking Point ;)

EDIT: Just read the cliffnotes...this will get exploited so much...buy stuff, get a friend to kill you, you keep the original, they repair degraded item.

If you die and have stuff you bought, they can loot it and is very degraded. If you bought it, you still have it, they just get a copy.

When we announced Early Access being on January 15th yesterday we didn't go into much detail about Event servers.
When we launch January 15th we will have many different servers with different rulesets. Some examples.
No Zombies
Zombie headshot only (only kill zombies with a headshot).
PVE
and just about anything we can think of to put behind a ruleset. Everyone, regardless of which sku they buy will get access to all these different servers. How many of each server type is still unknown and closer to launch we'll nail that down.
These alternate rulesets are different than what we call the Event Servers. These servers allow us to do things along the lines of Battle Royale and to have more limited access to those servers. Our goal here is to make it so you can earn tickets to the event servers and play there completely free just by playing the game. We'll also offer tickets for sale (we're talking $.99 here) and we'll offer a bunch of these tickets as part of the more expensive of our skus ($39.99) but if you just want to play the game you can do it for $19.99 and you can expect to get free tickets as you play the game.
We'll be figuring out other Event Server types down the line and offer prizing, etc for people who participate. Very similar to what Hearthstone does with The Arena.
hope this helps explain a bit more.
