H1Z1 - Zombie apocalypse sandbox from SOE

Maybe I am judging it wrongly. I thought this was supposed to be a survival game similar to Day Z but this looks like War Z(Infestation stories)


  • The paying for airdrops is shady as ****
  • The name tags revealing players is rubbish and stops any sense of stealth.
  • It looks ridiculous the way trees are cut down and smashing on the car for scrap metal.
  • Infact most of the animations look terrible.
  • Zombies are flat out broken and a non threat just like Day Z. It would be great to actually see Zombie AI take front and centre during development for a change instead of the same broken pathing/bugging out.
  • GFX are not everything but it looks like it was released during the PS2 era.
  • Sounds appear to be broken, no sense of distance.

Everything you said here is going to be changed, they even said the graphics are all just place holders, pretty much ALL textures are going to change. Animations are being redone. If you had done a simple google you would have found all this out on your own ;) Game can't be judged yet at all in any way. Reason why it is out with placeholder stuff is mainly to test server stability, then the rest will get worked on later.

So from people that have played both. How does this stack up to rust? From reading the comments it sounds a lot like its the same game? Collect materials, craft stuff/build a base etc. Even the airdrops though you dont pay for them with real cash on rust.

Anyone able to make an unbiased comparison?
 
i think it's the usual, people don't realise or understand what an EA game is. you cant judge the game on what you are seeing now. you can only begin to judge properly when things start to change and be implemented. hopefully the devs keep up the work they've been doing so far. as has been said on here already it does seem as if they are genuinely listening to what people are saying re bugs etc and are trying to sort fixes pretty fast - but at the end of the day only time will tell.
has to be given a few weeks/months to see how they progress with it. it might fall on its face like Dayz WarZ etc but it has to be given time
 
Not sure if servers have just restarted or the loot tweak fix has worked as I just found so much loot it was unreal. Although yet to find a single backpack yet.
 
Yesterday game was running with Gsync and now it's not. Any ideas? :(

Can currently get a refund from steam till Monday. Done mine already, it might improve in future but at the moment imo its just Dayz.

Game is real ugly at daytime, is there a way to force better AA ? Does it work with this game ?

Im yet to find a single positive thing to say about this game, it's awful even when you take early access into consideration.
