hailea chiller project

Changed my rig completly since this thread started but im still using the chiller which has been awesome.

going to be braiding all my cables soon so within the next wee while I will get a big update with new pics posted

Its been a year now since I started using the chiller and I have wanted for a while now to update my thread but Ive always have something to do before I can say im happy.

The plan was to give the machine a refresh and try and get it back to day 1 cleaness if possible. This was going to involve a 100% strip down and cleaning all the blocks as over the course they got pretty dirty even though I use ultra pure mayhems and PT nuke.

I have also wanted to braid my cables for the last 5 years or so and finally bought the stuff from MDPC to do so. I opted for copper and vanilla with some black over tones.

I have moved my pc from its possition as I have added a fish tank back to my living room and pc was way to close for comfort so that ment re routing the tubes for the chiller.

ram blocks now clean but crappy ek plating flaking off will see how these fair in the future and may change them out for bitspower blocks

Got the case stripped out fully and all the parts laid to one side neatly

Once case was stripped that allowed me to change the i/o sheild on the back as the screw holes on the one I had had threaded and the screws were just spinning in the holes now.
Lucky I managed to get another 2 spares before dangerden closed.

Look at how good msi are at applying TIM. What a joke! This is what I found when I opened my 7970 lightning BE that I just got

This was the mess on the stock cooler. Looks like they put it on with a trowel

My new fish tank built into the wall

For any of you that have Dangerden cases you will know there is no were to hide stuff.
Everything is seen through the massive viewing window so I wanted to try and get this 100% before I said I was finished. Its taken ages but Im as finished as im going to be.
The cables were difficult to route and braid but im delighted with how they have turned out and again with the tubing.
I have many blocks in close proximity with each other and trying to get them to look good without kinking has been a challenge to say the least but I feel im there now and love the way it has turned out.

Anyway thanks it for now hope you have enjoyed my update log :-) MERRY CHRISTMAS

That looks a great build, black pipes look good too. (and so does the fish tank lol)

What's the temps like now after a clean out, any difference?

Temps would make a difference with a rad but with a chiller there's never any difference.
If anything it would just click in slightly quicker which Im sure it hasnt

If the tanks heated no chance for res. Very nice build great detail to braiding.

Merry Crimbo

Even if it was cold water tank there's just no way you could use it.

The blocks would be blocked within weeks and green with algae

In a perfect world it would be an amazing 2 birds with 1 stone though :)

Thanks for your kind comments guys. ;)

merry crimbo to you too

Do you find that there is still a lot of heat being contained within your case even with the external chiller? I'm thinking of getting one of these in the future and get rid of my radiators.
