I say short hair. Got the same problem, hair is thinning, 33 years old :/

Shaved i look like a criminal so i just keep it short, tis the only option.

Can't see long hair pic but doesn't matter - you have darkish coloured hair so the longer it gets the more you're highlighting the lack of it in some places.

Short all the way.
