all my drivers r up 2 date.. bt i disable the sound drivers and i tried my new headset and it work for a longer then onboard sound so im lookin at sound cards now. any ideas for one?

i got a sound blaster auidgy 4 pro the xfi cards are ment to be great tho

Think this is the first game i've ever played through and completed the first time with 0 lives.

decent game btw, just dont expect any amazing new stuff.

ok, welcome to the forums mate. first, if you're running a nforce 2/3 mobo you may get problems, the XFI series rock, my friend (Dobie_Smalls) has one and the crystalizer is gorgeous. make sure you're not running Vista (i had around a 2-3 X overall performance increase by using XP as opposed to the build before beta 2. gotta love technet. drivers etc up to dat, audio acceleration up in dxdiag? enough RAM, may sound stupid...

Ravenhome trully is an awesome level, those things that run up the drainpipes are well scary, especially on hard with 5.1 sound!

I think it's the 5.1 sound that makes it scary to play for me, it's not as scary with normal stereo sound.

Too much puzzle not enough shooting for me, but looked superb.

Also far too much stand around and listen too characters for my likeing.

finished it earlier, took around 3 1/2 hours.
found the first 2 chapters boring, but chapter 3 was where it picked up!
bit of a rubbish ending imo, but still im looking forward to episode 2 now

Loved it, but then somehow I was always going to really.

Episode 2 looks absolutely superb, I just hope we don't have to wait too long, 6 months might kill me!

one thing i will say, from all the pictures and the case cover etc i thought you were going to be playing as alyx, which put me off slightly, as half life is all about playing freeman

So i was extremely glad you stayed as freeman
