HALO 3 Official Thread

Had a quick look and you're right you should have got it, but it hasn't given it.

All I can think of is just playing a game such as Team slayer/Social slayer, quit right away to lose the EXP point, then play another and win to get promoted again.

If that doesn't sort it I've no clue what will.

I can remember that after the match, when it usually come us with new ranks, it didn't. Plus it did seem to launch into the next game very quickly.

I dont know. I'll try downing a level and seeing if that does it.

Btw, Im up for some legendary co-op TheJtZ

Still without my achievement.

Though I didn't realise that Jayne Cobb is in Halo 3 :D

I thought I heard Wash, but I can't say that I've heard Mal yet. I have heard Michelle Rodriguez before.

Ahh, I seem to have found a fix for my missed achievement woes on the Bungie Forum, apparently if I get to sergeant rating on a particular game type it should give me the achievement.
Question: I have achieved the rank of lieutenant or higher. Where's my Spartan Officer Achievement?

The Spartan Officer Achievement used to require a GLOBAL ranking of Lieutenant (not to be confused with the new “Lightswitch” achievement which is earned by obtaining a rating of Lieutenant in a single playlist). We are aware of some problems with people disconnecting/powering down too soon after they finished the game that earns them the achievement. The problem is that the actual results of the game and awarding of the EXP happens on the back-end and is arbitrated by the LIVE service. If you disconnect before that completes, you won’t actually get credit.

The good news is that now the Spartan Officer, UNSC Spartan and Graduate achievements are all tied to the new per-playlist rating. So if you have already surpassed those milestones on a global level but never earned them, you can do it again by earning a 50 EXP level in a specific playlist. However, the pin that shows up in your Service Record is still tied to a global rating. So you can unlock the achievements by earning EXP in a playlist but you won’t get the pin unless you satisfy the original global criteria. Whew. Got all that?

Cool. At the mo I have regular commitments tues, wed and thurs evenings ~7-10pm. Also I have Uni lectures on Mondays as well as thursday and friday mornings.
I can work around pretty much the other time between.

Sorry for not responding to your request earlier today, I was a little preoccupied.
 
I've recently downloaded the mythic map pack thanks to halo wars, I can't say I'm impressed, the maps feel rushed and pretty light on content.

you got any idea what sort of gameplay were expecting in ODST, hoping for something a little different, i know player don't have MJOLNIR armour since they are ODST, man i hope they use some content from the books rather than the damned games on this one, halo: wars royally ****** up the story from contact: harvest, and hell all the others :mad:

its still fps, probably a bit slower paced than halo 3 and more silenced weapons etc.

compared to you I have very little free time... Mon - Thurs evenings around 5 till 5:45 - 6:00 i'm free and then the odd evening i may get another blast about 8ish.
Happy to give it a whirl and see how we get on.

All the new maps so far have been pretty crap, with the exception of Blackout and Avalanche (thats only because they were based on 2 of the best maps from Halo 1 & 2, but they still managed to mess up Blackout even though it was already perfect in Halo 2).

I can enjoy Rats nest and Standoff depending on the gametype, but other then that all maps that Bungie have made since the Halo 2 map guy quit have been utter ****, so in future don't expect too much ;)
