Do you mean Elite as in good at the game or an actual Elite from Halo? Sorry just cant tell if its a typo or not :p

E.g It could easily be:
'How do you get to be an elite?'

Sorry yeah, how do I get to be an elite.

Im amazed at how you can do replays and how good they look.

Press start while either in a lobby or the main menu, scroll right, select apperance, then armor, then you can either select Spartan or Elite and customize either of them with the bits of armor you have unlocked through certain achievements.

Borrowed this off my sisters boyfreind, must say im happy to of finished the game.. really enjoyed playing number 3... although campaign was a little short I will be playing it online next couple of days :D

i very much doubt it, that sticky was just insanely lucky :)!!!!

I saw one (That may have been staged) on Narrows

Guy Jumps into man cannon, flies through the air, throws a plasma grenade into the other man cannon just before landing. It flies back over to the other man cannon and bounces off a conveniently placed bubbleshield back into the man cannon the guy jumped into, the the plasma grenade flies through the air and catches a guy coming the other way (i.e. from the man cannon the grenade was originally thrown into)

It was quite impressive tbh.

Halo 3 is a very easy game and to be honest, bungie made it for newbs and for the folk that haven't played the first two title's. I've been playing pro tournaments since the first title, totaly owned the second one and now I've had the game for a few days and am already 41 in Loan Wolves, it's way to easy and to be honest "Crap" compaired to the second title. my tag is "xNG Manga" If you want to play a few games or check out my service record.

I doubt the reason you are level 41 is because the game is too easy, it is more likely that you have not played suitable opposition to prevent you from achiving such a level. The level system is designed to enable you to progress to a position as to where you eventually balance out with opposition that is of similar skill and prowess at the game. But as the game has so many people playing all the time, the wheat is currently difficult to remove from the Chaff.

I have only played a few team games that I have found difficult and tbh I have not played an individual that I have felt was "Too good" for me. Generally it is the opposite. I have played a lot of people that are on-par, or worse. I put this down to the fact that I am a fairly good halo player and capable of holding my own against most players.

I think once the short term players have moved on the game will become more competitive.

Edit:
Expanding on this further, I often said (without much proof) that the average level in Halo 2 was probably around level 10, this was because it was what was achievable by an inexperienced player in about the time it takes to get bored with the game and move on. Obviously the last ranks reset probably skewed this belief of mine.

The average skilled player was probably around level 24 in their game type of choice. And this level was probably also true of highly skilled players who mostly avoided match making. I would say good players could get up to about level 28 and very good players level 33-34. After that you get into fanatics and cheaters.

I think in halo 3 level 40 will be the new average for regular players (just a feeling) and level 50 may not be a high enough skill level. I hope it is at this point the EXP level starts to come into play.
I think EXP is probably a significant factor in match making and you will be put up against people with similar EXP levels in preference to skill levels, which seeing as the game is new, the majority of gamers are in the same EXP buckets. So noobs are getting their backsides pwned by Halo 2 veterans.

Don't be an idiot.

The game is so easy online because of the sheer number of players. Look at the distribution curve of the levels and most people are level 8. With millions of players online people are going to be easy to fight because many people are new to the series, not because bungie made the game easier. Halo 2 has a harder community because only the big fans are left playing it while halo 3 has a lot of new people.

Edit: you can see the distribution now krono when you set your matchmaking preferences.

Not to mention Halo 2 is the dumbed down EZ-mode of the series, not Halo 3. Anyone could pick up Halo 2 and seem to dominate from the outset, no thanks to the ridiculous auto-aim and bullet magnetism and dodgy weapon combos.

I'm pretty surprised Manga thinks the third game is crap compared to the second just because he's leapfrogged over literally thousands of crap players whose ranks have been inflated due to the game's very young age.

I'm finding the matchmaking system increasingly annoying - with half of my evenings spent playing some of the more dodgy gametypes.

If you formed a team with mates, or wanted to have a tournament with a bunch of guys, how would you set it up with matchmaking system? Would everyone involved have to be on your friends list so you could create custom games?

Auto aim is just as bad in halo 3 mate.

I've got a few crazy replays where auto aim has yanked my nade in the wrong direction or my damn rifle follows a person jumping across my crosshair rather than staying on the person I'm aimed at.

Yeah that's when it gets me, when it pulls your cross hair to one side as something pass in front of you :(

I must admit, even as someone who's hardly played Halo online in either Halo2 or 3, the auto-aim is quite annoying. Surely they could have just had it so that when you hold LB it starts to track someone, or something similar?
