@arknor who will you follow now that MSC has gone?

I have a warm fuzzy spot in my heart for alonso I have been rooting for him all season long.

I admire his determination to just get on with it and make the best he can wether the car is championship worthy or not he always gives it his all

But you can't leave if you can find no team to go to. Especially one willing to deal with a messy contract termination!

And of course if the car is crap then Hamilton's stock price in the sport will decline hugely. So any future contract would not be anywhere near as lucrative.

As long as his fans are true he will be ok. And as for messy termination if it's in a contract it won't be messy?.

You never know Brawn+Lewis could =Win

You two timing git :eek::D

I willed alonso on for the last 2 seasons just not as vocally as I did schumacher :p
I seriously cant understand why hamilton would switch to merc they have shown nothing since returning to formula one as a works team that indicates they will be title contenders anytime in the next few years.

every season brawn seems to be stumbling around looking for the magic bullet as anyone who followed merc will tell you.

they have made far more poor strategy calls than mclaren have aswell

It could = win but I doubt it. Especially not next year.

This has FAIL written all over it to be honest. Annoyingly my love of F1 has been intrinsically linked via Lewis for too many years and it's going to be hard to undo now. Need tips on supporting a new driver. I guess I could choose Perez, he's kind of cool.

Another factor of Lewis's decision might be slightly personal as isn't he really good friends with Rosberg? Maybe he has heard great things about how things are run even if they aren't the fastest team and he finds that appealing?

It doesn't seem like Lewis is moving there to be fighting for the title as soon as possible though but with him not winning the title the past erm... 3 years? I doubt he is in any rush really. At least not compared to the likes of Alonso, Perez, Vettel. I think Lewis's outlook on the world title has gone more towards Button/Webber's outlook, "yeah we are in great teams and I would love to win, but I think its kinda out of my reach".

Noooo perez and damn you ferrari. Was really hoping he would end up at ferrari within a year or two. Regardless it's a great move for him even if it upsets me :p I'm expecting big things of him.

He will have far better chances of doing well at McLaren than at Ferrari.

At Ferrari he would be number 2, full stop. McLaren don't run a 'number 1' driver, but have also shown that when they kind of do (Hamilton), it still doesn't stop the other guy beating him and then claiming the team as his own (Button).

McLaren is by far the better seat for Perez if his aim is to win WDC's rather than just win races.

I like Perez too, so I'm glad he's gone forwards up the grid.

Heikki into Sauber, as I predicted a while back?
