Not sure if this has been posted, but apparently Pistonheads have set-up a donation page for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in Hammond's name.

I disagree. Granted it's a little callous that it takes such an accident to bring it to the attention of the masses, but if it means the air ambulance gets much needed funds to help those who aren't in the public eye, surely that can only be a good thing?Tob3z said:Also the helicopter service is making a good amount of cash from this. I don't think that's right to profit from a celebs accident.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies solely on the generosity of individuals and sponsors to help save lives across the region. It needs to raise £3600 per day to keep its helicopter and highly trained paramedics in the air. Each year it attends over 1000 incidents requiring emergency air assistance
I heard - and I can't remember where, that one parachute opened - perhaps one failed causing him to veer off onto the grass... I think it was sky news interviewing that Top gear producer guy or something.Memphis said:That's assuming it was his 'fault', which currently no-one knows.
It may have been a technical failure, in which case we would possibly have a test driver in hospital that would likely not be receiving anywhere near the support the Hamster is right now.
