Which according to articles is meant to work if you previously used W7 backup only.
nonsense it works just the same as it did in win 7, why dont you try it yourself instead of searching the web looking for reasons to bash windows 8.

How could W7 be a real world challenger to OSX, when Windows was already the dominant OS?W7 was a real world challenger to OS X, but 8? well the guys at Cupertino must be wetting themselves laughing.

What I do not like is having an phone os and X-box operating sysytem on my main PC, I think the UI in its current form makes a Windows PC with keyboard and mouse unintuitive, things I can just do in Windows 7 or Xp even (Turn off PC from the bottom left hand corner of screen etc) are just not there.
I love when every new OS is release. this always happens people moan. if u think the os should be made how each person wants it , it's never happen

so what about all the people who like Metro and find it better? if MS removes it it'll make some happy others not.And that is the problem - W8 is trying to be a phone, tablet, Desktop, and there's an old but true saying about a "Jack of all Trades". MS are hoping you will buy into WP8, Surface, Desktops with touch etc. However, many won't so they are left with something that can only really be fully utilised if you buy into the MS ecosystem. I'm unlikely to buy WP8 or a Surface Tablet as I'm happy with my iPad and iMac. I think MS should have kept the mobile side separate from the Desktop experience with only minor integration - much the same as Apple have.
Start8 nicely matches the theme of Windows 8, I don't experience any flicker/delay going to the desktop. For all your Start8 users, I highly recommend trying out StartIsBack. It completely bypasses the Start Screen on startup (absolutely no flicker/delay), and the Start Menu looks exactly how it is in W7 including features like dragging and dropping. Overall feels better and more native than what Start8 can do (even though I like their Windows 8 skin).
Why where does the start button come into my argument?By your reasoning OSX could never be that good, it doesn't have a start button either!

as I said MS can't make everybody happy, it's impossible.. no company can
also 99% of the time your in desktop screen anyway so I don't see what all this moaning is for
your only thinking/seeing it one sided.
So in some respects it is simply a re-naming exercise from 7 i.e. file history - not a patch on TM. With reference to full image - only supposed to be for ex W7 users who previously used it in 7.
Renamed or not, it's still there despite the fact you repeatedly claimed it wasn't. You're entitled to your opinions on File History but it sounds to me like you don't have much practical knowledge or experience of Windows 8.
Instead of labelling File History a "poor imitation" and "not a patch" on Time Machine perhaps you could give us a comparison, in your own words, of the file backup processes between the two? The more detail the better.
This is your chance to tell people exactly why Time Machine is the superior product for backing up files, and how OSX might better serve their needs in this regard.
