Hanns.G HZ281HPB 27.5" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Well i bought one this week, im very impressed. No dead pixels and minimal backlight bleed (my previous hanspree 28" had lots of backlight bleed).
Ive set my brightness and contrast to 35 for now and it looks ok but still needs to be tweaked a little but im very happy :D

I haven't seen this one in action but at work we've got around 10 of the smaller 20inch brothers and the quality looks amazing for the price. Seems to match the dells and sammies that I've had.

Just purchased one of these and i'm very satisfied, i have my PC, Xbox and a PS3 connected and the only bad thig i can say is it's a bit of a pain to use the buttons to change inputs.

recommended!

How do you get on with the aspect ratio on the PS3 and Xbox?

I couldn't stop it stretching the vertical picture. I was expecting it to show the true 1080 picture with black bars at the top and bottom. I tried the different aspect settings in the menu but it made no difference. I gave up in the end. Now I just use it on my PC.
I'm still very happy with it though.

I was really considering one of these, but there are just too many complaints. There is nothing worse than an RMA.. I just couldnt be arsed with it.... although if the initial problems with the back ligh bleed has now gone, I would reconsider... So, has it gone?

The people with the problems all had the older version and should'nt have posted in this thread. It's a very good monitor and i am chuffed to bit's with mine. No ghosting, no dead pixels, no backlight bleed and with a bit of tweaking it has good rich colours.

Ive had the old monitor with the backlight bleed issues and im currently using the new one and the backlight bleed issues are fixed i can confirm ;)

So, backlight bleed is definitely not an issue with this new version? I am thinking about this monitor, or the Iiyama ProLite E2607WSD (which apparently has better colours etc), and I want to make sure I get the best possible monitor!

Going from a Samsung SM226BW (which has very good colours), so want something good :p Is it reasonably easy to tweak to get good colours? Read some comments on here, and someone said the Iiyama had better colours the the SM226. But people seem to be able to get good colours with some tweaking on this Hanns G.

Thanks very much Bigbruiseral for the mini review.

I've got a Samsung 226BW at the moment so it would be a BIG step up in terms of size but this old Sammy has still got excellent colours for a TN panel.

You've left me with a dilemma.
Do I stick with the old 22" Sammy with 1680x1050 resolution, a 2ms response and good colours or do I move up to 27.5" with 1920x1200, 3ms response and "ok" colours?

Doh!
The agony of choice. The Hanns G is calling me :)

This type of sound? Did anyone try it yet?

I read about the Bleed issue in another thread when I searched for the Hanns G.. but if that problem has been eradicated then I am really interested in getting the Hanns G... the research will continue!

I don't think anybody that has the new version has backlight bleed. I had a Belinea 10 19 27 (19" 1280x1024) before this and that was one of the best gaming monitors you could buy when i got it. This HannsG is better in every way. It really did'nt take much tweaking to get the colours and other settings right. Out of the box the screen is so bright but that only took a few changes to put right. I used this to calibrate the screen. I can't see me getting rid of this screen for a long long time. I just love it. :D

Thanks for the information mate :) Seems like it was just an issue with the old version.
