Hanns.G HZ281HPB 27.5" Widescreen LCD Monitor

I am playing Age of Conan, Star Trek Online, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Supreme Commander 2 at the moment. They all look fantastic.
As for movies... well they look okay to me but you have to bear in mind that it's a monitor, not a tv. A movie will never look as good on a monitor as it does on a decent tv. A tv has all of that clever picture-processing circuitry whereas a monitor just shows the picture "raw". I've not actually sat and watched an entire movie on it but I've watched a few hi-def movie trailers (full screen) and they looked okay to me.

Great, thanks mate :) I will be watching a lot of movies on my 226BW anyway once I get these setup in a dual monitor config, so should be ok. Thanks for the feedback :)

There are several ways in which you could resolve your problem, the easiest being a table clamp VESA mount.

You can get these cheap everywhere....

for flat you need page 3
It is very nice. I enjoyed it. Where is it buys ?

Hi guys, first post.

I'm also in the market for a new monitor, my old sammy 22'' still works fine but keep feeling the urge to get something bigger:) and need some more screen estate for my game's and DAW stuff.

Still deciding between the Iiyama ProLite E2607WSD-1 and the Hanns.G HZ281HPB.
Bigger=better so I'm very tempted to splash the cash and buy that Hanns.G beast of a screen!:) it doesn't get very good review's but hey those are biassed most of the time anyway.
Going after the satisfied people on here I think I won't be disapointed.

So you decided yet? will you be using something that?

Just got one of these yesterday, absolutely huge compared to my previous 19" Acer. I will have to get used to looking up at the 'my computer' icon. :D

The picture is crisp, the colours vibrant (I haven't tinkered with the settings yet, they seemed perfect out of the box) so I'm really happy with my purchase. It's going to take a while getting used to it as it really is bigger than I thought but I'm glad I bought it rather than a 23-24" monitor. :)

Iiyama ProLite E2607WSD 26" Widescreen LCD Monitor

I actually found this monitor a lot more stylish than than the HANS.G, anyone agree

Perhaps I am biased but I'm not sure that a silver stripe and a stand with a square base (instead of the Hanns G oval base) are sufficient to elevate the Iiyama above the Hanns G in the style charts.

Does style matter when, for an extra £5 the Hanns G gives you:
- hdmi connection
- a bigger screen (27.5")
- better contrast
- better brightness

At 1" bigger it would be hardly noticeable. And we havent even compared the two so how do you know they have better contrast and brightness. All the same i am with you on the HDMI connection, that would make the extra 5 quid worth it.

I was comparing the specifications of the 2 screens.
The Hanns G has better contrast and brightness based on the specs but you do have a valid point. Manufacturers are well known for making wild claims about contrast ratios so I guess we'll never know the true figures until someone performs a "real world" comparison.

I'm considering this monitor, sounds great, my main concern is the 3ms response rate (I'm on a 22" with 2ms response rate now). Can anyone confirm if the Hanns.G is fine for fast FPS games etc.?

Cheers.
