Harry and Meghan to resign

Lol seeing the recent headlines about your beloved corrupt foreign empire I think you are the gullible one.

You think the EU is corrupt? Wait until you hear about the Conservative Party. You remember them? They're the party that you slavishly vote for every single time because the Daily Mail and the posh man on the telly box told you to.

The funny thing is that no-one who voted remain pretended that the EU was perfect, we just didn't think that taking a sledgehammer to the British economy was worth the non-existent benefits of Brexit. The other difference is that not one single remainer will defend any individual involved in the EU Corruption Scandal, whereas you will defend Boris and his corrupt Tory colleagues to the death.

Another thing that surprises me, does it take all of this shenanigans with Harry and Meghan to realise that elements of our press are nasty, deceitful and toxic (Piers Morgan/British soldiers, using dead kid's answerphones, taking a picture of Kate topless a mile away in private and claiming it's in the UK's interest for publication, chasing Di down in her car, decades of lying about the EU and immigrants, telling us nurses/doctors/barristers/judges are the enemy and growingly working against the British public)?

but there's many in here who know what the media are like but obviously think that people like Meghan are deserving of it and should have just put up with it :(
What they didn't count on is a husband who also went along with it and after time realised it wasn't the way it should be.

No the couple didn't do it from the start, in fact the press weren't too bad and when they did the tour of Australia they enjoyed it.
Meghan loved going out with the Queen.

Some people have a very skewed perspective on this.

They have been more than happy to be in the public eye and profit from it when it suits them whilst at the same time pleading for their privacy.

Exactly, the press turned around the time they got called out for being environmental advocates whilst private jetting around the world for weekend getaways. Did it warrant everything, not really, but being tone deaf buffoons tends to wind people up

Part of the issue I have is that celebrities, influencers and everyone wants to have all the benefits of media coverage but none of the downsides of it. Thats their job. To be in the public eye and they are more than happy to reap the massive rewards and then, shocked pikachu face, the media isn't a benevolent kind entity and is more than happy to show them at their best and worst.

The same ones who are happy to have people fawn over them and give them money directly or indirectly but go crying when some knobs online aren't so nice and say nasty things.

If you want to be out of the public eye and have a private life then do it. Plenty of people have. What you can't do is use the media to further your career and fame and then come and complain when they turn on you.

I think few people would debate that the media are scumbags but I would suggest that many of the people on both sides with strong views on these things are no better. The ones who are nasty to Meghan and Harry and also the ones that are nasty to those people.

I read a twitter thread early related to Clarksons column and the vitriol, abuse and general nastiness of it all was quite something to behold. Then again, when you are on the "right side" of the debate you aren't being nasty, you are just standing against bigots etc so its totally OK.

In the Netflix documentary, Harry implies that after his and Meghan first tour away to Australia, and the glowing press it generated, his brothers press team started putting out negative stories/lies about them.

He said that previously Him and William had seen the same happen to Charles and his siblings and they had made a pact never to do that to each other.

Harry is saying the start of the persecution against his wife was some kind of internal jealousy of William?

Hmmm, nope. Don't buy that.

Admittedly even I fell for it. And have taken it at value when discussing it with friends and colleagues. It's being the basis of quite a few friend's arguments.

What headlines about a corrupt empire (seriously asking as I don't know what your referring to)?

Nonsense, they've never "pleaded for privacy".

An old video of Prince Harry making a public plea for privacy from the media has resurfaced in the wake of his upcoming bombshell memoir and Netflix documentary series.

The Duke of Sussex spoke candidly about his "right to privacy" in a video interview during the 2016 Invictus Games, the same year he met now-wife Meghan Markle.

In the resurfaced footage, Harry, 41, probed British journalist Andrew Marr on the media's "incessant need" to have access "behind the scenes".

Harry: Horrible media always wanted to have access behind the scenes...

Netflix - how about some more $$$

Harry: Hey, check out our new behind-the-scenes documentary where we tell our story.

It absolutely is a plea, via the courts. You may also want to watch the (in)famous Oprah interview if you want it from the horses mouth.
Plead and plea are different words.

Maybe an analogy will help you understand:

There's this guy, right. He has his own business, driving a taxi. When the light's on, you're free to hop in. When the light's off, you're not. Just because you got a lift on Saturday night, it doesn't mean you can jump in the cab anytime you like.

It's really not that complicated.

But they're doing what they complained about. They constantly whinged their privacy was being invaded but they're also constantly putting their private life in the spotlight.

So would I for 100 million.

Doubt anyone would be interested, though.
