He grew up inside the Royal Family - of course he’s going have been told to think a certain way and he was to live his life a specific way. At some point he realises he doesn’t have to, but that may have needed an outside perspective - we don’t know.
All read - apart from your weird idea about relationships, no idea of the relevance to the power dynamic, if there even is one.
He’s a prince who’s never going to be king - he has naff-all power, in a Royal Family with very little to begin with.

She did, she stopped acting, she gave up most of her charity work. All this is about the UK press and it’s rabid pursuit of his wife. He made a choice and put his wife and child above everything else. And to you that is him being an subservient.
You aren’t changing The Firm when you are the spare and the first in line has already had kids. If he was 1st in line he’d have had some power to change but he wasn’t so he had zero.
And he and all the royals are powerless to change the British tabloid press. Maybe if they showed a united front and took the press on they could maybe change it but I doubt it. There is zero respect for anyone by the press. I can’t put into words my utter contempt for them.

watching the Harry and Megan netflix series i was inititally siding with her until the courtesy bit came up. She really took the mick there, disgraceful.

Clarkson has written tongue in cheek columns filled with hyperbole like this for years, you can literally go back 20 years to see this exact writing style. Previously it was assumed he was using over the top humourous exaggeration to make a point

I seriously forgot how she was hunted daily by the media, how she could wear the same clothes as Kate but the media would compare her to a council house tart.
I suppose at the time I thought it's something she's got to put up with.
Harry then has enough, takes his family away but the media just seem to step it up.
There's only so much you can take before you fight back.
People forget how long it took to get to that point.
