has anyone used digital rev?

It is annoying when Couriers do that, but can't fault DR 1st time customer!

Anyone have any advice on flashes & settings to use on camera? (400D) (Ofc Manual)
:D the one i have is basic (power low/high) shoot...

This 600 is baffling me with Ettl Wizardry

Aperture control flash power.

That is the one rule you need to know.

Ettl is just trying to balance everything so what you have focused on correctly exposed. Try to bounce it whenever you can and turn the flash off, put it in av and shoot a photo, remember the setting. Put it in manual, with those settings, turn on flash in ETTL.

Start from there, change camera settings to suit.

in av mode i can either have it fixed at 1/200sec or auto

Af assist beam

emits
does not emit
emits from external flash
 
No, I simply go straight to manual.

I pick a shutter speed, depending on lens, lets say 1/60th, pick an aperture, say f1.4. And an ISO, then take a shot to test it.

The ISO part comes from experience, I can pretty much tell what I need to get the background exposed. The shutter speed and aperture will stay pretty constant (unless I get asked to do a group shot), the flash will adjust to suit for the foreground.

If the room is too bright then I will need to tone down the ISO as you will risk overexposed the subject.

Okay thanks, a lot to learn i think i will practice :) atm have 50mm 1.8 attached
the lowest id want to go with my iso would be 200 - 400(lowest)

800/1600(is just too grainy)
 
Are they based in the US? I'm sure there's a company I heard a friend talking about that sounded something like that.... They offer a ton of free goodies to go with the camera and the prices are really low but in fact they post from the US so you pay import tax and your warranty is void as its a US one.....

If your after a camera go to a local specialist or London Camera Exchange, at least you know what your getting.

Way too many dodgy companies out there these days especially when it comes to cameras.

Used them twice. Fine the first time, cancelled the order second time as the 'in stock' item was out of stock.

These days I use HDEW and One Stop Digital for my gear purchases.
 
I used these around a month back now, and i don't regreat it but having found out about hdew and procamerashop UK and lower prices i shall be using these for my next big purchase but some accessories are cheaper at DR still (Battery Grip for 5DMK 3) £30 cheaper

Digital Rev have been around for a while now and they are pretty good.

In 2004 I spent a fair chunk of money with them; Canon 17-40L, Canon 24-70L F2.8, Canon 100 Macro F2.8 and a Canon 100-400L IS.

All delivered quickly and to the described spec.
 
ok old thread i no but i ordered a 24-105mm f4L lens on saturday and with it been a bank holiday weekend i didnt think i would get any were with it until tuesday, been to the coast today and when i got home i had a message asking me to phone there 08453 number ......... any way no one there, but what could they want from me ?? out of stock or what ??

as far as i no it is an international warranty on all canon lens, bodies are region based ie UK/Spain so on
